Anyone with a VAG-COM bored and want to take some trans temp readings?

Has anyone with a legit VAG-COM and an IR thermometer ever made a table of what the VAG temperature reading is vs. IR thermometer at different points on the trans and fill pan as the car warms up?

Edit: Ambient/room temp would be good to know as well.

I'm feeling ballsy and have the stuff in hand to a CVT trans fluid and pan filter change, but my ghetto VAG code scanner tool doesn't read trans temps... just error codes. I do have an IR thermometer, though.

Another Edit: If this is a stupid idea... can one rent a VAG-COM for a day for this purpose?

I did a ATF change on my 96 A4 before I had a VCDS (a.k.a. VAG-COM). I bought a cheap outdoor/indoor digital thermometer. I filled the trans cold, snaked the outside sensor into the trans fluid, ran through the gears and waited for the fluid to get to 35 C. Worked great!

Dang, VFIZ looks pretty slick. $250, though... and I don't have the pretty full color dash display :(
