I know that there are updates for the radar but before i send it back for update wondered if anyone else had noticed a ton of false alarms.
Im thinking its some kind of rear detection or something with the adaptive driving, it was going off every 30 secs K band from the rear and nothing was behind me.

The V1 picks up the side assign "radar" signal so goes off contently. It is primarily the from behind signal. You can turn off the side assist but it only turns off the car's indicator light but the signal from the car is stays on. I had my V1 upgraded thinking it would help, but didn't. You can turn off the pop and it helps. There are threads out there about it.

+1 I had the full update on mine and it only falses once in a blue moon from the side assist.

I bought a new V1 maybe a few months ago and I don't ever get false alarms on my RS7 with full assists.

He hasnt sent it back.

My original V1 did not have the update and went off constantly. It was cheaper for me to sell it as is and buy a new one. The new one works perfect.

This is great news. I just got mine back from having it upgraded. I can't wait to have it back in the car. I was hoping the update would help; glad to hear it does.

Believe me I tried everything. I sold it and got a new one, it was cheaper for me then doing the upgrade.

I have a V1 with everything but the most recent update. Supposedly it still has the filter for the side assist. It doesnt go off that much from my car really, but it goes off from other cars all the time. Sometimes Ill have the rear arrow and 3 lights lit almost my entire ride home from work. Its really annoying.

Maybe I do not have the latest upgrade. My last was January 2015 and I still get side assist signals from behind and that is with the pop turned off. I'll see what is new.

I wouldnt be that quick to judge. Its already been tested to be slower in direction change than the V1. Plus there are so many gimmicks on the Escorts. Just give me a detector that does one thing perfectly. I tried an Escort Max when it came out and the thing reset itself or went off all the time whenever the temp went under 30 degrees. Went back to my V1 instantly. Only other detector I would have tried is the Redline, otherwise, sticking with the V.

Totally different experience for me with the Max. It is whisper quiet to false threats, and when it warns you, you can bet it is real. My V1 became virtually useless due to false alarms and the programming is not very user friendly. It had its day, but has failed to keep up with modern tech.

I already use my obd port for my p3 gauge and don't want to use a splitter there. I am curious if you could just buy an RJ11 splitter and mount that up top with V1 to power the unit and the BT module to use the app. Do you really need to purchase the Savy piece to make it all work. Looks like the BT module just needs power.

I have the V1 and the concealed display then I have a RJ11 splitter for the Bluetooth dongle.

I have my phone on a vent mount. I dont really use the YaV1 app since I did the initial programming on it. Now I just have my phone on the mount for Waze.

So once you set it up using the app you can set it and forget. It just works as long as your BT is turned on on your phone. I thought the app had to be open for it to function the way you set it.

Not that hard. I found a couple radar detector forums and used a lot of the settings other people from my state were using.

I've been reading up on the radar forums and noticed some threads about the connection of the BT module. Do you have the BT module connected to your splitter with a 2 or 4 conductor cable?

What do you mean by unique sweeps, exactly? I have the V1 and the bluetooth dongle. Do you mean I can lock out specific frequencies that I might go by every day, for instance? Any good write-ups on customizing your V1? Thanks!
