Stage 1 GIAC Sale, Should I?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I'm tempted to get the stage 1 GIAC tune for my 2010 S4. Is it night and day for you guys who are tuned compared to stock? My only concern is that I drive a hell of a lot (135,000 miles and counting) I just want to make sure the motor with a little higher mileage can handle it. The car is meticulously maintained.

    Thanks for your input guys!

There's been no evidence of any reduced reliability from tuning this engine. It's very stout.

Now's as good a time as any to do it!

Revo has 25% off, but from what I can tell GIAC & APR are the preferred tunes

I noticed a significant difference when going from stock to stage 1. If stage 2 is out of the question, I'd highly recommend stage 1.

Also if you have a DSG - do the transmission tune. Worth every penny.

I don't want to spend the money to get a new clutch if I need to (others on stage 2 need a new one, some don't) for stage 2 so I just have stage one for now. Big difference in throttle response, almost too responsive, just a bit more torque until you pass 5k, then it hauls serious ass compared to stock, so if you want more accessible power up top, then go for it. Totally worth it. As addictive as it is, I don't think stage two would keep me out of jail.

I just went stage 1 last week. Don't even think about it anymore and just go do it. It's awesome!

How much is the sale? How much more does it cost doing stage 1 and then stage 2 vs doing stage 2 from the get go (speaking just of tune cost not the hardware needed for stage 2)?

Most if not all of your recent questions/threads would be quickly answered by browsing the business's website or contacting customer service. Not sure why you think it's quicker/more efficient to post on a forum

I would think that many people here know and it would be quicker to post the answer than a lecture

If you drive that much mileage, then just do it! It just means you'll enjoy the benefit more and $$ spent won't go to waste.

He has 3 rings (has used the forum more than us). Believe it or not at 3 rings people are faced with the difficult decision of becoming Keyboard Forum Warriors (KFW) or average forum users (AFU). Although commonly declined, some do become what we know as KFW's. Although a sad, un-treatable condition, every forum has them. They are the people that feel the need to comment on every new thread "USE THE SEARCH BAR YOU NO0B.."

Lol... Yeah those people!!! I laugh it off and troll them. I got bashed on my first few posts here for "not searching"... When the reality is I do search but the Tapatalk search function is horrible.
