Audi of america stuck to their word...

Well, after about 2-3 months of waiting, getting a "bad" response and sending more paperwork into Audi...im finally getting my reimbursment for the repairs done to my audi for the timing belt/tensioner failure. im pretty damn excited now!! it was a PITA dealing with them, but it worked out in the end...lol.

Now, i can be SERIOUS about a BT. i actually have money for one. i just wanted to post up a thread diferent from the "ranting" that comes up quite often. Things are looking up

What was your claim w/ the TB tensioner bolt? I just got a new engn because the thing broke. (shops fault for not replacing it when doing TB)

the timing belt tensioner system failed summer of 2004. then in may/june i hear audi will reimburse for repairs done from the timingbelt.tensioner failure. all they did was reimburse me the money i paid out of pocket. i ended replacing 8 valves and some other things. cost about $4000 total...i wish i would have gotten a new engine...lol

Holy crap! $4000 for just the repairs to the valves and head? That seems really steep. Was this work performed at an Audi dealership?

yeah, my car was in the chop for a while. it was pretty serious. there was no compression in one or two of the cylinders and i cant remember the rest.... but this work wasnt done at an audi dealer, the dealer quoted me more without out even knowing the full extent of the damage.
i would check my invoices to see what else gto busted, but im only home on the weekands.

they always took care of me. Had me airbag replaced and I was way out of warranty.

haha damn im at 64 now and my extended warranty through vehicle one wont cover it unless it breaks and the car has followed required maitnence i wanna get it done cause i know im driving on borrowed time lol but it be cool to somehow get reimbursed for it ;)

yeah same here, but my warranty is the same way. audi doesn't require you to change it at 60k though, on my 01 the bentley says wait until 120k miles......my warranty only goes until 100k so i'll change it if it doesn't pop by then!
