VIM streaming 2016 technik s4

I just got a nice and fully equipped S4 (2016) (B8.5) and have done a number of caristaapp and a couple of VAG COM updates/mods. We did VIM, but I haven't tested it yet, and I will try it from an SD and DVD soon.

I have seen a couple of streaming posts in other series of cars, but I haven't seen a bluetooth streaming (VIM) mod here.

The problem I see is that the MMI cable is in the glove box, without any other power source in the glove box.

Q: Has anyone set-up streaming (bluetooth or otherwise) inside the glove box for the B8.4 S4?

It seems like you're confusing/combining two different things...Bluetooth streaming is purely audio, but I'm not sure there's any kind of VIM mirroring or something from phones. I don't know of any way to output video to the car except for SD and DVD.

There is a audi/apple cable that runs out of the glovebox and allows you to show video, the part number is # 4F0 051 510 R and it has the red band on it

That's the 30 pin though, not lightning.

well, i do have an iphone 4s not doing anything. I guess I could use that as my video source and use the aforementioned cable. Doesn't really solve a youtube desire though, but getting a bit closer.

How about mirroring in the B8.5. If there was a USB port as well as the other connector, could set-up something to work, natively (plus VAG COM VIM)

True, I picked one up and an apple 30pin to lightning adapter and it worked fine, never really watched any videos though so it was a waste of like $125

I bought the A2DP guy's BT adapter kit for the wife's 2013 A5 2G MMI, but due to the constant on power issue, it is in sleep mode all the time. When I reset the module, it works well. Can't find a fuse slot that is ACC power setup so it turns of when the car does.

I heard there's an HDMI inputs in the back? If you can use cable to cast the screen then that could work. But not sure about the input

the phones with lightning ports, even with the adapter WILL NOT do video on the red grommet cable

How do you get video from the kivic on the MMI screen?

Audi sells rca cables that work on the newer model audi's that plugs into the AMI port in the glove. Run some power from the passenger side fuse box and you're good to go

I forgot about those cables...didn't work in the Q7, but just verified they work in the S4. Now to find an airplay mirror that is iOS9 compatible.

You are a genius...I just bought an HDMI to RCA converter off Amazon...will have AppleTV in the S4 next week. Will be nice to have WAZE or Google Maps navigation when I want.

ok .. i have an atv 2

questions:

1. how does the ATV2 get power in the glove box?
2. which hdmi --> rca converter is required - doesn't that need power, too?
3. how will the iphone see (airplay) to the ATV-doesn't it need to be on a network?
