    P1114 -- After O2 Sensor Spacer Installation

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Should I expect to see this code after installing an O2 Sensor Spacer on a 034 HFC?

P1114: Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor; B1 S2: Internal Resistance too High

    This is a new code.

Did not see this code prior to installing the spacer. Prior to the spacer, I put new front and rear O2 sensors in, and did not get this code.

What do you suggest I do, oh exalted One?

First thing I would recommend is to check the harness plug for damaged wires. Simply removing and reinstalling the sensor shouldn't affect the sensor. More likely to be in the wiring harness since you had to twist it around a few times to unscrew the sensor.

Im not old guy, but that is purely an electrical issue (electrical resistance dtc). I would just erase it and see if it comes back. If it does then I woud disconnect the sensor, spray with electric parts cleaner and plug back in.

Also, always disconnect the sensor electronically and have the harness free when wanting to add or remove a sensor. This way you dont twist the harness when either removing or installing the sensor (twist entire harness with sensor). Once sensor is installed, now you can route the untwisted harness and plug it in.

Yeah, I disconnected the sensor electronically before taking out the sensor itself -- maybe something got messed up when feeding it behind the engine, idk...
