MMI freezing when connecting to phone

Has anyone had issues with their MMI (3G) freezing when their phone connects? I have a samsung galaxy s6 and when the phone connects my mmi will freeze for about 15 seconds or so. This includes the radio, backup cam, gps, etc. My old galaxy s3 works though.

Is this an issue that has been addressed in an update?

Is the address book different in the S6? Might be trying to update and sort through the numbers? Did you clear out all the other phones from the MMI memory?

The android version is newer so it might be but I have unchecked the "send contacts and call logs" option and it still freezes. I cleared everything out of the bluetooth memory on both the phone and mmi. I even tried unpairing and repairing a few times.

The freezing has an oddly consistent pattern:
Freeze for 20 seconds -> Unfreeze for 5 seconds -> Freeze for 5 seconds -> Unfreeze.

Is it exactly the same if you let it update the contacts?

My MMI will freeze for a approximately 5 seconds as it updates the contact list etc, that's on my works shitty Blackberry Q10.

It does the same exact thing whether I update contacts or not. And it is much longer than 5 seconds. My backup camera is unusable most of the time since I will be out of the spot and 2 lights down by the time the MMI unfreezes...
