I've always stuck with the OEM 4300K. Blue / purple light is pretty rice in my opinion, and actually reduces lumen output.

I have 6k's and I like them. I think over 6 would be too much blue but I think white with a touch of blue looks good.

I'd be more interested in hearing what brand/model bulbs people are running. My depo ecodes came with bulbs and I'm curious how much better the pricier bulbs are. I really don't think I could spend 150 bucks on a set of bulbs when mine work just fine but I am curious.

Sounds like I'll just go oem or stock specs. Is there a difference between oem and another brand other than price??

Stock. Make sure they are the same brand or you could have minor color differences.

I've always did 6k it's like a light blue when they first start up, but once there warmed up there a bright white with a little blue. My favorite but to each there own.

5000 is my preference as it's a purer white compared to the OE 4300K, and any difference in output is extremely negligible.

I wouldn't recommend 6000K, but certainly don't get 8000. Lumen output is terrible at that temperature and it looks extremely ricey.

if getting phillips or osram, buy from a reputable dealer, as there are TONS of fakes out their, even in the Amazon FBA warehouses. No sense in paying a little more for name brand just to actually receive the Chinese falsely branded $25 bulb.

https://www.theretrofitsource.com/ is an authorized distributor and usually has good prices too. Not sure what ECS is presently charging.

^^ Retrofit source also has a good black friday coupon code going and the Osram CBI 66240 is pretty cheap for a pair. $135 not including whatever discount they have going for black friday.
66240 is bright as hell. I see my headlights on the ground pretty early on before the sun actually goes down. My high beams are useless, and this is with a set of relatively new Ecodes where I replaced the HID reflector bowls with unscorched ones.

Looking at the bulbs when running, its an intense HID white-blue. Think mercedes S class or Audi A8 headlight color temperature. Very classy look.

I like mine from DDM tuning. They are very bright and have been reliable. I think they are 4500 or 5k something like that..

Just get Mini H1's from TRS. I run their bulbs at 4500k and the lighting is phenomenal. I'll be picking up a set of 5500k's in the late spring for summer time, using cooler temp bulbs for winter keeps down the glare.
