You may be able to locate a third party vendor component that will partially work as the cable itself that is provided by Audi is propriety to Audi. Going through Audi will cost you a pretty coin or two. I was thinking of something similar for my Android phone but decided to simply connect via BT and load up my mp3's via the Jukebox.

My salesperson told me the cable doesn't work with phones, only iPods (and I guess iPad too). It's a software issue that I don't think will get resolves, so if your intention is to connect your iPhone to car for music, it might be a waste of money.

I think u may be right I was trying to display the album covers and rotate them to the desired album. Went to Audi dealership and tried all the cable they had and none worked. The tech guy went way out of his way to help. I wondered if this is just in Canadian cars because we also cannot get I connect here also which really sucks.

I have a 2016 s3 with MMI Plus and this is the cable I use. The cable came with the car and is an Audi supplied part. When plugged into my iPhone 6 I can see my playlists, albums, songs, artists etc on the MMI Screen and select my music via the MMI wheel.

Actually my car came with 2 cables. One for the iPhone 6 and one for the iPhone 4. I think the salesman just threw them in as they are $85 each.

On another note I mount my phone on the dash since I like to use the Waze traffic app so I found this Lightning cable extension on Amazon for about $12 and all of the phone / music functions operate 100%.
