    How can I tell if a b8 s4 is tuned?

    How can I tell if the car is tuned? It feels way faster than it should but I've never driven another one

    If it goes over 155mph then it has been tuned. Haha jk, do not try that!

    Where did u get your car from? They might be able to tell you whether it be a dealer or private party.

    How can I tell if a b8 s4 is tuned?

    I know for an APR tune if you go to launch the car the revs will be over 3200 rpm, 3200 is what a stock S4 will settle at before launching. Tuned cars usually have a higher rev

    Edit: for a B8.5 at least

    You could probably call the dealer you bought it from whenever they open and see what they know. If they dont know, find an Audi dealer and go test drive another S4.

    Launch RPM if auto trans, tuned will be higher. And if your 6MT, just see if it will rev past red line with out cutting out, tuned will push right past 6500 and will still be pulling hard. When the engine is stock, it kinda stops pulling after 5500 RPM.

    well the easiest way to know would be the raised redline in the tuned version vs stock. The stock in Manual mode will usually shift way before 6500rpm, the tuned will probably go all the way upto 7000-7200rpm. Also if the previous owner disabled automatic upshift in manual mode, like i did, you will bounce off the rev limiter like in a true manual until you trigger an upshift via the paddle.

    Supercharger can be loud even Stock, just depends on which intake. FWIW the APR pulley is identical to OEM just smaller (same texture, color, etc.)

    Run it to Audi, they will tell you. Half the threads on this forum are about trying to hide the tunes from Audi lol

    LOL whoops, I jumped the gun there, but either way I believe the rev limiter is raised for both to about 7200 instead of the stock 6500. Maybe test drive a stock car at the dealership. Or if you have Carista or similar Bluetooth OBD 2 dongle, you can use an app like Torque Pro to check your boost, if stock you should see a boost leak around 5500rpm which will cause the car to stop pulling like @u2nelson said.

    Log boost, log a/f ratio, try to go over 155, race a stock S4 of the same model, or go in for warranty work and see if your car flags a TD1.

    Recommend 1 or 2.

    You can take your vin and call APR, GiAC and the others. I know APR can't tell you what stage, but if you are running their file then they have the vin in file.

    I thought the same thing on my car. turned out to be stock. so few of these cars have actually had software done on them and then sold--you get a warped perspective here at an enthusiast forum. seems like every S4 out there is tuned. probably really like 5% of them are.

    stock these cars are pretty fast--R&T got a 4.5 seconds to 60MPH -almost as fast as the V8 R8. I later did stage 1 EPL tune on mine with some E85 added, and the car is now more responsive and pulls harder for sure, especially at the higher rpms. But it is not "way faster" than stock because stock was already fast..

    What other mods did it come with? If none then I'm willing to bet it's not tuned.


    These cars are quick in stock form...


    Where are you located? Meet up with a friendly AZ member with a tuned S4 and have him/her test drive you car... should be able to tell...

    Because it feels way faster than 330hp... Mind you my 135i was putting down 400whp. Has an awe exhaust and intake pipe

    Stock they are about 360 (under rated at 330 as Audi typically does). If you don't have other mods I'd be willing to bet you are not tuned.

    This. stock these cars make close to 300WHP. supercharged cars always seem faster to me than they should as well in general, I think its the power curve and instant response that does it.

    Rev in neutral to test if rev could climb over 4K RPM,if it does, then it is probably tuned.

    The OEM 6MT has limitation of 4K Rev in neutral.

    And the car was slower than I thought. I didn't really have time to do a healthy pull before but first gear was still impressive. These things pull stock
