    Cam adjuster slides

    I took apart my engine and going back together now when i was putting my adjusters back in i noticed that i Can pull the slides off by hand is that normal or i should replace both cam adjusters?

    You'll be fine. I had six cam adjusters at one point and all of them came apart easy by hand

    The shoes/guides come off and are replaceable so should be ok.
    They do get brittle, look for cracks and dont drop it.
    There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

    I know they come apart easy thats not the problem the slides/shoes them selves come off

    ok thank you i just didnt want to put the thing together and have issues i know some ugly things happen somwtime when they come off, im putting this engine into my b6 a4 so want to do it with out having to go back into the engine again
