    Audi of Chantilly TD1?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I'm pondering the idea of getting an APR tune. The only thing holding me back is the worry of getting a TD1 and having my warranty voided. Has anyone here gotten a TD1 from Audi of Chantilly? Or on the better side, does anyone have a tune and they don't get flagged?

The dealer doesn't get to decide if you get flagged when it comes to a tune. It's automatically done by the computer when the car is scanned for warranty work.

However, if you flash back to stock before visiting the dealer you should avoid getting flagged TD1.

Many people here will tell you that Audi of Chantilly sucks major ass, myself included. Search on here you will find many stories. The only way that your car will get flagged TD1 is if they run a spec/actual scan on the car. All of the tunes available will get flagged, there isn't one that won't get you a TD1 if a spec/actual is run that said. If you still want your car dealer serviced, then the best one to go to with a tuned car is Audi of Silver Spring, although that is probably a hike for you, you won't get TD1.
There are stories of people taking their car to Chantilly, telling them not to run the spec/actual and them doing it any way. That is just the tip of the iceberg. Some people have had good experiences or luck at Chantilly but most have not.

It depends on how the tune was done, there is a flash counter on the ECU so even flashing back to stock, depending on the dealer will still TD1 you.

With something like an EPL or Solo tune (or UniConnect), that may be an issue. The major players store/reset the flash counter when flashing back to stock.

There is only one case that exists on this forum where someone got flagged after going back to stock, and it's because APR/the APR dealer somehow flashed the wrong file.

+1 to what DirtD1ver said in both posts.

I use Arlington because I used to work for them and I know who to ask for. Of course it is only stuff that I can't do myself like mounting/balancing tires and 4 wheel alignments.

So if I do not flash it back to stock it will for sure get flagged? Even at Audi Silver Spring?

You can, I never did, but I have a close relationship with Audi of Silver Spring.
