    In need of a tune

I am in the process of a stage 3 build and I need a tune. I'm running rs4 turbos with rs6 internals, 83mm hitachi maf, 60 lb injectors. I have a stage 3 tune now but I am afraid it will be too aggressive for stock internals.

Fear and horsepower don't go well together.

Engines blow up when pushed, sure the tune has a big part to do, but even perfectly built and tuned engines can pop without warning.

My point, is just get it tuned and go, keep it around a 3.0FATS and you should be safe on stock internals, but it's not a guarantee. Also, I'm just throwing that number out because that's what I've read. I haven't personally blown a 2.7t yet, in the 2.9 FATS range.
Stock engine with some rods tossed in. 11.25@132mph.

    So source a competent tuner?

That set up is what more than half of run stock internals. You'll be fine as long as you have guy that knows what he is doing.

Well that's what I was hoping to get through this post. I'm not sure how to get in touch with the daz guy that does a bunch of tunes or any other guys on here that are very good tunes. I was hoping someone would chime in.

Ive always enjoyed dealing with him, but remote tuning isnt for everbody.

This is what I think you need to consider first.

For remote tuning, the person on the receiving end is responsible for much more than just dropping the car off and stroking a check.

#1 the car needs to be tip top. Any of you on here that spin wrenches knows that this is often not the case, even on a fresh build.
Just because your n75 was fine with 6psi gates at 15psi, doesnt mean it is going to work with 12psi gates at 25psi. This one has bitten me in the ass before.
I think one of the toughest parts here is how much effort goes into putting one of these cars together. After all the blood, sweat, and tears, nobody wants to believe that there is a problem with their car.
Trust me. These guys have tuned enough cars to recognize when they are having to make changes to compensate for an issue.
This is from my car the other day. Daz made one change and saw something he didnt like. Asked if I had another pump. Mine had never been a problem, but I threw another in. No other changes.

#2 would prob be being computer literate. You need to be able to use the software for flashing and logging. These can be tricky to setup the first time, but easy to use once you get the hang of it.
And dont even ask if you can use your mac. If you gotta ask- No. And Steve Jobs doesnt like you or your car anyway

#3 Getting the proper logs so the tuner has the proper data to make the proper changes. Pretty straight forward here.

#4 communication. Much can get lost in translation by the time it makes it across the interweb. Seems like some people need the face to face or they start reading too much into an email msg.
Dont do this. These guys can get busy so messages may be short and sweet at times.

If you are good with these things above, and interested in learning more about your car, remote is the only way to go!

If some (or all) of the things above are lacking, you may be headed for a frustrating experience and would prob be better served dropping it off somewhere for a more personal touch.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

That is some really good information I will definitely keep that in mind.
