2.0T FSI Coil Conversion from 034 Motorsports complete

And now they have a Black Friday sale....oh well...lolz

My parts kit came Wednesday, which was super impressive. I don't expect until after Thanksgiving. So I stayed up Wed night and completed the install/conversion. Super easy, took about 3 hours total including changing plugs.....and I was really lackadaisical about the install....took a few breaks.

Car runs awesome now....super smooth. I had a coil (or two) go out on me a couple weeks ago....codes showed #3 regularly....but sometimes #4....and sometimes random. I've read enough threads on this here....and I didn't feel like playing "wack-a-mole" with coils, so I just did the whole conversion and all 6 coils at once. And do not regret this at all. Very nice fix....and very nice upgrade. Now let's see how long I can keep the car on the road this time. Here's a couple crappy pics....

Conversion wires, a Coil, an adapter, and the rest of the stuff in the envelope....

The ICM bypass fit nicely right over the top of the ICM's...

    Adapters on...

Coils and wires installed on adapters...

    Finished product....

Here's links to the parts used. I highly recommend this upgrade....sure worked well for me!

Edit: I should probably mention this is my 2002 A6 Quattro 2.7T for future reference if this thread is ever found in a search.

MAF housing is 85mm with adapter to fit stock airbox. It goes along wit h the K04 stage 3 upgrade....so yeah, it does something. :)

    Well thanks for looking closely!

Yeah, I'm running the DV's in reverse on purpose. This is the way the were mounted when I got the car. It was previously pointed out to me they were "backwards", so I corrected. But then I lost bottom end. So I put them back this way, and got my bottom end back. Doesn't make sense to me....I just know I'm not worrying about it or messing with it anymore....lol

    I don't have a catch can...still running PCV.

And yeah, I could use a new cap. I detailed the rest....so I guess that is what stands out now...lol

I just did the conversion too
scored a 034 kit on the FB group for CHEAP

car starts better and idles smoother. I want to say it gets slightly better mpg, but I could be fooling myself. I don't notice any more power but it does seem smoother

Are those 034 dv's? I didnt notice they are installed backwards. To be honest, how is that even possible? Isnt one side wider and the other narrower? Elaborate because this guy no comprende.

guess this explains why reversed dv's are better for higher boost..

for some reason though it seems like this picture is backwards.. reversed is normal and vice versa lol.

I purchased this conversion kit shortly after I bought my 2.7 c5...along with some new bk7re spark plus...this is a great choice for preventive maintenance plus the red r8 coils give a nice look although some kits (looks like as this one you have) come with black coils, still a very ideal upgrade for this engine

That last section (between the X's) describes my setup perfectly as I get the chirping sounds they mention...most prevalent at the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. Also, no diagram, just a piston and spring valve, so no worries about that.

And I've got 034 hoses on each side (lobsters and little L hose). They fit the valve just fine mounted either way.

Like I said, I've had them on both ways...And for me, the just seem to work better like this.
