What are we using for valvetrain removal on 2.0T & 1.8T heads? I saw this on ebay LINK but am not sure if it does the job easily. I've previously used those large c-style clamps/compressors but I found them very difficult to work with. Any thoughts on this tool or any other suggestions?

That's the exact compressor I used the last two times I disassembled my head. It should be possible in theory to use them with the head on the car, but I did it on a bench with the head strapped down with a ratchet strap. It also helps to slip a pipe over the handle to give you more leverage to compress the springs.

Wonderful. Can't wait to build my head once I get some $$ in the reserve. By the way, have you looked into this? CLICKY

I recently installed this on my car, still wanting to pull it off to check on it
I have had it for about 1000 miles now.
