    Question Any tips for reinstalling turbo?

    So I removed the beat down turbocharger last week and shipped it off to Tims Turbos in to be rebuilt. I will get the turbo back on Wednesday and plan on installing it Thursday. Getting it off wasn't too hard, are there any steps that i have to take when putting the turbo back in that I didn't have to do when taking it out? I have done a coolant flush because it was either mixed with 2 colors of coolant or rusted(not sure which). Just want to make sure I get everything right and don't mess up anything. Thanks in advance, all advice is appreciated!

    New manifold/exhaust gaskets.
    New oil line gaskets.
    New fasteners.
    Prime turbo.
    Enjoy.

    Make sure all the oil and coolant feed and return lines are clean and clear before . the oil change afterwards also

    What's the process of priming the turbo? Please excuse my lack of turbo knowledge, this is my first experience with them.

    After everything is up. You can remove the fuel pump fuse or relay. Crank the engine for about a minute to get the oil inside the turbo to avoid a dry start up.

    Essentially when starting a new turbo or reinstalling the oil doesn't flow immediately to it which can naturally cause a few issues such as engine seizure. You can manually feed oil to the bearings but a better approach would be to use something like liqui moly turbo super lube which is purpose designed for this. Search it up and hope it helps

    Gotcha, thank you! Thanks for all the info guys, already got the new lines and gaskets for it so I'm ready to go once the turbo arrives. I'll update after completion and let you guys know how it went.

    I would pull that fuse and also drain the line at the HPFP. Or better yet unplug the injectors.
    Any built up fuel in the line will allow the engine to still run without the electric pump for a little bit. I found that out the hardway. You just want the engine to crank.

    Pull coils and fuel pump fuse. You can also squirt a little oil in the CHRA before installation.

    I just unplugged the main harness at the intake, kills spark and fuel. When i had mine rebuilt a few months ago they told me to run conventional oil for about 200 to 300 miles to let some carbon build up in the seals of the turbo. He said otherwise it would always consume oil. So you should ask your guy about that.

    I dont think that little amount of fuel will do damage
