i have the basslink and its perfect. the new one is 250w and 300 bucks but you can get the old model 200w one on ebay new for like 200 shipped. and really there is not a noticable difference between the two.

I was also thinking of installing one, is the Basslink powered? No need for an extra amp? Coz I want to keep the trunk nice & neat

I am running a 12 inch JL W6V2 with a JL 500/1 amp. I think all you need to do for the stock bose system is tap into the rear speakers and ure good to go. I've had mine for over a year and im slowly thinking about a JL W7...

I have the JL W6V2 sub as well but with a JL 250/1 amp and it is more than enough power for the sub. I have it in a ported box and it pounds. 500 is over kill only good thing is you have that bass knob, wish I had that.

caps are always good to get and a 500.1 is enough to run a single 12

you could always upgrade ur front speakers and power them with a aftermarket amp and alot of dynamat will help too

I say go with a single 10 and just set it up or down however you like with a head unit, obviously make sure it has sub controls.

IMHO, I think Audiobahn is crap. their products are more for show. i would suggest jl or Image Dynamics. jl is a little pricey but that's what I have. image dynamics is cheaper and just as good as jl.

Yes, I actually do have a bass knob. How is the sound quality on your JL w6? I have a sealed box and I dont think its the right dimensions, the sound quality isnt as good I dont think. Maybe I should go ahead and pull the trigger on a ported box.

    question about the basslink

how much bass does it actually provide, i used to have a big system in my honda and all it got me into was trouble , rattle/dynamat more rattle more dynamat shot alternator and so on.

all i want is just a little more bass to make the system sound fuller but i don't want anything to start rattling and i don't want to start dealing with bigger batteries/strike caps and so forth

    any advice?
