    1.8 Coils on 3.0

So I've always thought we all share the same coils. I have a bad one (confirmed by swapping coils and the misfire followed) and I wanna order a set ASAP, but the 3.0 coils are never on sale. Can I just grab a set of 6 that are used on the 1.8? I feel like the answer is yes, but no websites are showing that the parts are interchangeable between the 4 banger and the sixer.

I know some 2.0t guys who use the newer revision M coils which 3.0 uses so I'm guessing as long as their push down coils they will work.

But that looks like a good buy on ebay, So that be the best first option IMO

It's great! Thanks bro! I love it! Trying to fix some of the aesthetics to be more my style once I get a couple little things done I'll post some pics. I do miss the denim blue that was a beautiful color. I do love my ibis white, but a good blue will always be #1 to me.

Yeah. I agree. I'm putting an order in for the fcp OEM coils now. I'd rather pay $3 more a coil now than get screwed with OE style stuff

I can't remember where I read about it but a lot of guys started using the R8 coil packs on their A4s. I guess someone went on the R8 side of ECS and noticed the coils were much cheaper for Audi's super car compared to their "regular" cars.

I bought six from GAP on sale for about $12 each? The R8 version. But, I haven't had the need to pop them in yet. Google it man!

The 'R8' CPs are used on several other engines/models.

Did you alter your ECU's dwell maps?

I bought them on sale because it was too good to pass up. I haven't had the need to install them yet. So, I do have to change my dwell maps? How does one go about doing that?

SlickFix is running these on his 3.0 with no adverse effects with stock tuning. I doubt any maps needs to be changed. I'm in this boat because of a tune issue (not blaming any one......yet), but I am gonna be running these with the stock ECU. I should have mine tomorrow from FCP and I will be installing them on Saturday, or Thursday if I decide to take a personal day to work on the car.
