So i'm new to this platform. I was having issues with my transmission, not shifting past 3/4 so I kept driving it for awhile. Yesterday, I had a Maxme Matco tools reader and ran some tests on the transmission, seems had a lot of problems with the solenoids grounding out etc. after the test turned on the car, but now it wouldn't shift into anything, I pulled over pulled the ECM fuse thinking that would reset the error. Now car won't even crank. Need help!!

Unhook battery, short the two unconnected battery cables for 15 minutes. Reconnect and try again.

Ok are you saying to hold the 2 cables together for 15 minutes? Then reconnect?

Yes, it drains the stored energy in the capicators and wipes clean limp modes and stored faults. Can easily be done just by connecting jumping alligator clips between positive and negative leads when they are both disconnected from battery. When it does start it may run like poop and have to be kept running by fiddeling with the throttle as it may need to self learn

Ok but does that not remove the software from the ecu and Tcu? Would it need to get reprogrammed?

No. It will not remove anything from the ECU etc.

Guys I will try this, crossing my fingers!! Seems a little harsh to cross the terminals and have never really thought about doing such a thing. I have done this to the car stereo capacitor back in high school when I was into the BASS era, grounding it out to charge it completely, but never really thought it could work on the main ECU. Is there a fuse or some relay that could have also been tripped or blown? When I tested the automatic trans solenoid via the Matco tool maxme?
