Bit by the S4 bug again... Input?

Hey everyone, been a while since I have been here. Sold my 2007 S4 DTM a while back and miss it. I've been through several cars since (ML63, 135i M, current is 2010 Range Rover Sport), and really want to get back to the Audi. I've been looking at ballpark 2010 S4's with around 50k miles. I loved the S4 I had, but I don't want to deal with any major issues like those had with the timing chains... Is there any comparable weak link in the B8 S4? Any input on potential issues, aftermarket warranties, or any useful experiences in general would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

B8 S4 is solid. There are no major repair issues like the timing chain nightmare in the B7 S4.

DSG trans and tstat are your problem spots. Most tstats have been replaced by now, and if you buy a manual car that is one less thing to worry about.

I don't have a warranty left on my '12 and I'm not worried at all.

I'd look for a 12' MY if you're going with the pre-facelift model. I'd also try and find a lower mile car.
Stay away from the 13' MY cars. They are known for steering issues... search and see for yourself.
The DSG cars' weak link is their transmission in higher mile cars. Lots of info on here to research. I'd stick with a MT car... the MT car's weak link is the clutch... we see people buying used ones and having the clutch go out on them pretty quick (prob why previous owner traded in)... all depends on how previous owner drove it. If going DSG then make sure you've got a warranty.

Otherwise this has been a very solid platform other than the DSG issues... had mine since new and virtually issue free... my clutch is also still solid...

Thanks - the one I'm looking at is 6MT. Is the clutch replacement pretty standard for a clutch replacement, or is there something that makes it an issue compared to most cars?
