Have had my Q5 a week

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello to all

I have had my 2016 Q5 one week now and find it to be all that I expected. Although I will always revel in the memory of my former A6, the practicality of the Q5 meeting my present needs, more than eases the transition moving from one platform to the other.

The Q5 continues to give me the beautiful appointments that make an Audi most desirable. The color scheme of Cuvee Silver Metallic exterior and Pistachio Beige interior is also so very pleasing to me.

I also find that its spunky 2.0T 220 hp turbo engine propels the weight of this SUV briskly and with honest acceleration.

All in all, I am happy to own this fine car and look forward to a future of good driving experiences with it.

I absolutely loved the power and thrust of the 3.0 supercharged engine. But, with my aged reflexes, driving fast is not a smart or prudent thing anymore.

The Q5's 2.0 is an altogether other thing. It really is better suited to my present abilities and needs. I do like its smoothness and almost silent purr.

I have been pleasantly surprised in how untruck-like the Q5 is. It is sedate, well-mannered and always ready to jump into the fast lane to pass slower moving vehicles. This is a far cry from the early American utilities which were bulky, cumbersome and really drove like trucks.

In one week, I have become an aficionado of the Q5.

You should drive the SQ5! It's like a taller S4 with a tune, measured only in smiles-per-gallon.

It's nice that Audi offers a wide range of powertrain choices. It's easy to find the one that best meets your needs. If the choices were more limited, I doubt they'd sell nearly as many Q5's as they do.

Congrats. I was curious to see the color combo....why is it that there seems to be photos of a few different Q5's in your link? Not that it matters, just an observation..

    Kudos to you.

The photos were shot with a cell phone camera and a digital camera. They show a marked difference in quality and color.

However, there were three photos of the dash area ONLY given to me by the dealer that I had thought were from the car I was purchasing. I was in error and have now deleted them from the collection (thanks to your observation).

For the record, it was not a misrepresent by the dealer but a lack of understanding by me.

Now shown are photos of ONLY my Q5.

Congratulations on your new Q5. We have the Cuvee Silver metallic too (w/black interior) and are pleased with the color. I think the 4th picture (3/4 rear/side shot) best captures the color. The color samples on the Audi web site look nothing like the actual color IMO.

Q5 Bob, The Cuvee Metallic Silver is a magical color.

Depending upon the angle and kind of light, subtle changes take place within its reflections. I have seen the exterior surface of my Q5 to look sliver with a very light tinge of gold, silver with an almost imperceptible hit of blue and then the color to which you indicated in your post as displayed in that photo.

In fact, I have not taken two photos in which the Cuvee Silver Metallic looks the same.

Regardless how it changes, I find it pleasing.

Not true. APR has an E85 tune for it. That makes all of us 3.0T guys jealous. How does 318 HP, and a WHOPPING 405 LB/FT of torque sound?

Box cold? Maybe he meant code. If you have a new 2016 model, it is very likely that they haven't unlocked your specific ECU revision. Mine is {I don't remember} 0006. My 0006 revision just became available last week. I've been waiting for months. I will be flashed to APR Stage-2, V.2, tomorrow at noon. I can't wait! The rest of the mods have been completed and I'm really looking forward to 460 ponies.

    Woah! Bithchin'! ef'n quick!
But seriously...I'm impressed at how normal it is under regular driving conditions. Before, when I would accelerate like I normally do, it would say 5.0 MPG. Now, it says 9.x MPG. I'll have to keep track of it next time I fill up, but if the mileage is that good after a tank, that's a huge plus. I did the auto-upshift in manual before getting the tune and it worked fine in my SQ...no limp mode. Now that it's tuned, it hits that rev-limiter quick. I'm thinking of hunting down some Camaros tomorrow.
