AWE gives their vendors a bit more discount over the holidays, and lets us takeover, if that makes sense. They try and not be "competition" for the parties that generate the largest portion of their sales. That being said, I'm happy to provide a quote

I recommend UroTuning...they bent over backwards when quoting me and my colleague on AWE Track exhausts, and this was not on Black Friday. I can only imagine what they will do for you if AWE allows for greater discounts. Customer service = best I've experienced! My $0.02 :)

By the way, nothing in it for me, I'm not affiliated with any vendors.

Gonna have to comment here. All they did was excessively break pricing restriction, and were shopped by AWE, and called out. I personally went to AWE asking for some extra allowance, so I could make you a great deal, and not violate. That would be bending over backwards. Throwing out reckless pricing for an easy sale does no one favors. I'm not at all mad at anyone buddy, as I only do this for fun, but it has to be said. That is not how you operate, and it causes problems.

You are not entitled to make false public assumptions about how another business operates, just as I'm not entitled to make any assumptions as to how you operate. They worked directly with AWE, I was involved in the process. No one was called out on it, and they did not throw out outrageous pricing to make a sale as you claim they did. I understand you want to make a sale, but do not do it at the expense of fallacies - that is not professional behavior and it will not gain you credibility. By the way, I checked with you and 2 other vendors, including UroTuning, and both other vendors provided me with more competitive pricing than you did. I gave all three a fair chance to earn my business, and the better vendor won. Fair and square.

Best luck to you and I hope you make many sales, but your attempt at tarnishing another business' name by constructing fallacies is pathetic at best. And I'm glad you're not mad, you shouldn't be. It's how a free, capitalistic market operates, buddy.

All you have told me, is that other vendors are also heavily breaking restriction. No need to get defensive. You did nothing wrong here, and it honestly has nothing to do with you. My day job is operations for a large corporation, so I'm familiar on how to operate. On top of working for Supreme, I also work for AWE, and every other vendor we support. Sometimes you have to tidy things up. As for credibility, I'm rock solid. We're done here.

Defensive? Don't make me chuckle...I said there is nothing in it for me; I just dislike businesses that operate the way you do. It's all about perspective: you think that what I'm telling you is that other vendors are breaking rules, and I think that what I'm telling you is that you're overcharging in comparison with other businesses. I highly doubt that any of them were breaking any rules, given that when they reached bottom prices, they got on the phone with AWE, and they wouldn't move another cent. In regards to your day job, good for you. I'm a successful computer engineer and I've also dealt with retail before, but what does any of that have to do with this?

Lastly, I posted to provide my opinion (aka $0.02) to the OP. Therefore technically, we've been done since we got off the phone weeks ago...had you flown past my suggestion (as you should have done), none of this dialog would have taken place! Good day and best of luck!

OP: don't forget to shop around, they are given discounted bottom prices, but logically, anything over that price is up to the business and prices do vary - take my word for it. I would also like to apologize for the exchange that took place between a vendor and myself on your thread; that was not my intention. I hope you find yourself a great deal, regardless of which vendor provides it!

Not looking to make you chuckle. Vendors set very hard lines, and we try our best to comply. If you do not, they will pull some of your margin, or even pull the account. It's a huge problem today, and everyone struggles with it. If everyone stays close to these boundaries that are set, everyone wins, and product values remain where they should be. There is good reasoning for implementing these policies. This should not have turned into an argument. I would be happy to further explain over the phone. Please do not mistake great passion for anything negative.

If I may - I have purchased wheels through Mops and I can hands down tell you this is someone who knows his stuff and is one of the best around to deal with. Hell I recall once he sent me some bolts that were his out of his personal garage just so I could see them and try them out. There are a thousand behind me who would say the same thing. Do what you have to do but I can't sit by and hear others say things that are the farthest from truth about Mops and how he does business here. The fact it never feels like business it feels like dealing with a good friend!

    I'm out.

    +1 for @Mops,

I have personally done bussiness with @Mops on a AWE Touring exhaust system, the deal he gave me was fair and resonable.
I personally value Mops for his expertise and the sound advice he has provided me over the short period of time that I have dealt with him.
I will and look forward to doing business with him once again in the future because of the service, and advice he has provided me at no cost
and with the knowledge that I can trust his input on what will work best for my vehicle.
I have seen and read here in this forum where he has freely given his time and shared his knowledge with countless others on what would look
or work best for their specific vehicles.
Yes,@Mops is a vendor that I and countless others can reach out to get an honest input as to what is best for us, I have no problem paying the fair prices that he give us.
I personally much rather have and count with his expertise and customer service that he afford us all than to save and squeeze the last penny out of a vendor.
If we continue on this trend to squeeze the last penny out of every reputable vendor there is, they will not be able to continue to be in business
then we will all loose due to the fact that they can not afford to stay in business.

This is just my 0.02 cents.

I have been in wholesale for over 23 years. Manfacturers/distributors set a pricing structure to be fair to all vendors. There is no way a manufacturer will change their pricing for one vendor just to make one sale, this would set a horrible precedent. Retailers can work on any MU they want, within the mfgs restrictions, to stay competitive. The only retailer I have encountered that "require" their suppliers to work on a specific margin is Walmart, and that's because they can.
Anyone can sell a product cheap but you also have to take into account the backend of the business; if there is an issue, will they be there to aid you

My opinion here is that vendors shouldn't air their dirty laundry in the open. If a vendor feels that another is not playing by the rules, that should be taken up directly with the manufacturer- GIAC, AWE etc... behind closed doors, IMO.

TTRStud was only pointing out that UroTuning was able to give the best price, which I think is what everyone wants to know- who has the best price.

Bam! Someone gets it. This is not a pissing contest and I couldn't care less if Mops puts your babies to sleep at night as part of the service. It's a free market, and people want the best price possible, at least I do. I did not squeeze the last penny to run anyone out of business - the initial figures differed right off the bat. That tells me that vendors play with their profit margin differently, as they should, it's a free market. Let's not turn this thread into a feedback thread for those who stick by Mops. If you liked dealing with Mops and want to deal with him again, good for you, that's awesome! When I gave 3 vendors a fair shot, Mops did not come on top. I'm not bad mouthing him, or making false assumptions like he did, publicly. That in itself is a red flag in my book and lack of professionalism. I personally did not fabricate any information or assumptions, as the the first defensive post a few posts up implies that I did. I was very neutral in my recommendation and I stick by it. I will choose UroTuning over Mops any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Add some more +s for Mops. I had been talking to him about some wheels for my Cayman, and he was a big help. He went out of his way to get info and pricing on various items. After many weeks of talking and going back and forth, I ended up buying from another source for reasons that had nothing to do with Mops or his service. Even though he spent a bunch of time on me, there was no hard feelings on his part. In fact, he has treated me as nothing less than a friend even though we've never met. He's a good guy who shoots straight about what he can and can't do.

I also don't think ttrstud was out of line in suggesting that the op get multiple quotes.

GAIC or AWE Black friday sales?

I have found it is sometimes very hard to find an honest person. I had a problem with Tire Rack. They had really bad customer service. I have not shopped with Mops but I have asked him for quotes on a few occasions. He is also very active here and he will not steer you wrong. To me a few dollars either way for piece of mind of customer service is a no-brainier. The lowest price isn't always the answer.

Highlighted from my original post above. People keep missing the point lol

I'm done with this thread...hopefully the OP doesn't drink the Koolaid and does a bit of shopping/pricing around, he won't regret it - whether it's Mops, Uro, or Winn Dixie that finds him the best deal!

I don't want to stir up things but just want to chime in. We only offered the lower price since we were throwing in a set of Downpipes we had been sitting on for over a year! We stick to the pricing guidelines that AWE has set forth 100% but this was a special case in an effort to move some product that had been on the shelf for quite a long time.

Well... during what I would assume would be a very busy time of the season for aftermarket vendors...I decided to email a few and call some others.

Modded Euros and GMP were prompt and helpful and Urotuning wouldn't return any of the five calls I made (two voicemails) and two texts.

But at the end of the day, the only vendor that took the time to walk me through it all and treat me like a friend helping me make an informed decision, and had all the pieces I was looking for, was Mops.

    I really can't say enough.
When you're spending 5k on some parts you want some information and some questions to be answered. He did that every step of the way.

So props to him! He's my go to from now on.

So props to him! He's my go to from now on.
Sorry we couldn't get back to you we were closed from the for the entire Holiday weekend. I saw you called on Friday and Saturday so we would not have called back the same day being closed. We should have called you on Monday and I'm sorry if that didn't happen. Email would have been best or even a PM on here. Being a relatively small operation with only 2 people handling sales we were severely over loaded from the weekend orders.

    Smart man.

With my experiences with Mops, he knows his stuff well. If he doesn't he will promptly find the information or find someone who knows what they are talking about.

But what sets him apart is that he ISN'T JUST looking for the sale. I have come across other parts that he could sell me but he will give his honest opinion and steer you away from a sale because he believes it wouldn't fit my needs. These things are harder to come by in the industry these days.

Bottom line is if you find someone else who offers you a lower price, don't come crying when something gets messed up because you don't have someone to bat for you.

Always shop around. I think that was TTRStud's point. If Mops ends up being best like you said then awesome. It's your money so do what you want with it. I personally prefer to deal with local shops in person over online vendors but I live in CA and have lots of options here.
