    So im new to the Audi world, came recently from the BMW world. So far im loving my S4, very fun car. Unfortunately everything is foreign to me. So heres what happened.

    Sunday I was in Seattle, where the roads are shit, and my car is lowered (bad combination). As i go through downtown i merge onto a street and hit a bump that i never saw coming. Impact was loud, very loud, and immediately after I heard a very loud bumping sound, kind of like a machine gun. It scared my girlfriend it was so loud. I pulled over and looked under the car as much as i could, saw nothing hanging down. Since i was only a few blocks from Clink stadium i decided to just limp it there.

    After the Seahawks sh*t on the 49ers we had to get home. I have AAA so i wasn't too worried but i decided i'd have to drive it to really get a feel for whats broken anyways, so I drove it home.

    Heres what i got from that;
    -Car only makes the noise when im compression braking or suddenly let off the gas while in gear. It also makes the noise a bit more quietly when i back up.

    -No noise when i accelerate whether it be hard acceleration or slow.

    -No noise while turning.

    -The noise doesnt seem to be nearly as loud anymore.

    I jacked the car up an hour ago to see if anything was visibly damaged and unfortunately came up short. Some parts of the exhaust were scraped up a bit, but nothing big. Im not sure what the transmission mounts look like, and i couldn't actually find anything that looked like a transmission mount at that. There were 2 holes on the bottom of the transmission that were empty, but it doesnt look like anything was removed from them with force, the holes were still perfectly threaded.

    Any inputs would be nice as i have no idea what it could be. If anyone in the Snohomish county area would be willing to assist me with this I'd be very grateful.

    I'm gonna go with exhaust as well. Probably loosened it off the hangers or something.

    I agree. Check ALL the hangers, including those on the downpipes.

    Take some pics under the car. Might help us see something. I'm in the southern part of Snohimish county but I don't have free time to come help out right now.

    So now im on the fence about being relieved or worried. The sound is basically gone. Happens occasionally in first gear but never in any others. Im not sure as to think of this as a good silence or a toddler with a crayon silence. While i was under the car I did find a piece of the heat shield that looked like it might have been pushed up against the driveshaft so i gave it a little bend back. Ill get down there again soon and snap a few pictures for everyone to get a look.

    On a side note all this feed back so quickly is awesome. I posted the same thing a day or 2 before this on Vwvortex and only got 2 replies. Audizine is my new go to.

    On another side note, does anyone know of an Audi parts facebook page? I made one for BMW's that became a hit for the PNW but i have yet to find one for Audis, maybe im just not looking hard enough.

    Thanks!

    Alot of people say audizine is dead but I beg to differ, theres tons of activity here still and I hope it stays that way. As for a parts page.. there isnt one dedicated for specifically that, but this here https://www.facebook.com/groups/319349424870344/ has lots of parts pop up quite often. Just gotta deal with a few asshats and people showing off their B5 like its the best around haha
