Help! Bends on internal bumper! Normal?

Recently i switched my grill to a rs style mesh grill. upon removing the bumper i noticed two even bends on both sides of the metal bumper. the bends are so identical that it makes me think its normal but the scratches on the bends suggests otherwise.
I got the car brand new with a 19mi on it. will turn a year this to me this coming march. Is this normal? should i contact the dealer?

Yeah - they are there to promote precise crumple. Very normal.

My 2015 has them, but I do not recall my 2012 having them. I presume your 2012 has the crash bar going straight across with no bends as well?

Alright, you piqued my curiosity so I went way back into the photo archive from 2 years ago when I installed an RS grille on my B8 (2012). The crash bar had bends, but not the same as the B8.5:





The part that is visible thru the grille is essentially a smooth contour all the way across, but there is a single bend at each end.

I was concerned because I thought my car was in a crash before, guess it is normal
