Will 20" wheels fit the RS7 Performance?

I'm think about trading a 2014 RS7 for the new RS7 Competition. My problem is I prefer the ride of 275/35 tires, and I recently spent a pile of money on a set of 20" HRE p101's. The question is: Will my 20 HRE's fit over the huge 16.5" ceramic front disks? I asked this at the LA Auto Show and, of course, nobody knew.

It looks like there's a fair amount of clearance between the calipers and the 21" clown wheels on the car at the show, but that car is the EU version, so who knows. Photo of the RS7 Performance front wheel w/ 21" wheels below.

Call hre and see if they will make you a set that can, the p101 will not.

It must depend on the manufacturer. I just had a set of 20" x 10" Forgeline wheels made that will fit over the CC brakes.
2011 R8 with APR tune etc...
2012 TTRS will all the goodies
2021 SQ8 with APR Tune - Holy Crap!
2022 RS6 with APR Tune and Intake - Even better!

From the look in that picture, I really doubt that you will be able to fit any 20" wheels. I also recall that kiku has retrofitted carbon ceramic brakes onto his RS7 and he mentioned that 20" wouldn't fit.

The Ceramics are 16.5 inches the disk/disc (how to spell that) alone and then there is the caliper as well.

I am interested to know this as well but I've been told they will not fit on anything less than 21

I had the same GA1R Forgeline wheels in an 18" set that fit over my R8 carbon ceramic brakes.

Are the carbon ceramic brakes in R8 and RS7 the same? I'm not surprise if they are not and it's bigger in RS7 to compensate extra weight in bigger car.

Yes, the caliper is the problem. I'm basing the disc size on what's stated on the AudiUSA web site. 16.5 inches is 420mm which is the size of the RS6 ceramic disks. I'd bet that car had 20" wheels.

Also, at the Auto Show I could slide my fingers behind the caliper, so there was at least 3/4" clearance. If the wheels were 20" that would leave 1/4" clearance, and HRE's or Forgeline's would have even more clearance because the alloy is stronger.

So, based on all that crap, I think there's hope. More info here.

Just looked at the Audi.de site. The RS6 Performance with ceramic brakes, and the RS7 Performance with ceramic brakes, both have a winter tire/wheel option that is 20": "Winter-cast aluminum wheels in 7-twin-spoke design, size 8 J x 20 with tires 245/40 R 20".

Also the standard RS7 offers ceramic brakes as an option, and comes standard with 275/35 20 wheels.

    I think we're good.

You are in for a world of surprises. There is more than just being 20". Offset and wheel design is big factor.
