How many of you have been flagged TD1 AND denied warranty work?

Pretty simple question - how many of you guys have been TD1'ed (and for what) and have also been denied warranty work? I come from a stage 2 GTI and despite having a lot of mods and a tune, I was never denied any warranty work.

However, as we all know, Audi is more stringent so, I am trying to gauge the likelihood of getting assreamed if I tune and get a simple intake.

EDIT: Yes - I understand that this can vary from dealer to dealer - but I am more interested in the general picture.

This is going to vary more dealer to dealer than it will between Audi and VW specific dealers.

I understand - that's a given; but I'd still like to see the general consensus.

I think there is enough regarding this subject that there is no need for this poll. If you are going to tune your car, and you get flagged, you run a very high risk that drivetrain related warranty items will not be covered. If some are, well you had a VERY lucky day and you should go buy a powerball ticket.

This sums it up. OP, gotta pay to play. If you are tuned, I'd expect a TD1

That warranty is 5yr/50k, correct? I wonder how, if at all, it'll effect cars that fall outside of this range. Would make me want to not tune until after the warranty period.

Just remove the tune before going to the dealer. My Audi dealer removes my apr tune before they plug it in for any warranty work.

Interesting. Is your dealer also an APR dealer (some car dealerships play both sides :D)

I was thinking of trading mine for a used S4 recently and let the dealers used car manager take my car for a drive to estimate their trade in offer. I told them ahead of time how much it was modified. His offer stated that they wanted it as it is now because the modifications make it a lot faster and better handling. Not sure how an Audi dealer planned to market a Stage 2 A4 with water meth injection, but would have been interesting to see.

I am way past warranty at 95,000 miles.
