Why would you use steel wheels in any B8 Audi ?
With winter performance tires like a Michelin Alpin PA you shouldn't have any traction issues. But with steel wheels you raise your unsprung weight, add the corrosion problem in winter and highly unlikely you can find a correct offset... And let's not even mention hubcaps ..

A set of winter wheels and tires is not that expensive for an S5...

    Here's the thinking behind it.

Right now I have stock wheels with summer tires on them. These are my only set of wheels and tires...which I rode through last winter.

Dropped $1200 on some Blizzack winter tires that just arrived today. Ordered them to run on my stock wheels.

Ideally, my stock wheels will become my winter only wheels. And I would order larger BBS wheels and summer tires to run the other 9 months of the year.

Only issue, BBS wheels are pretty pricy and not sure I want to drop more money on a second set of wheels and tires so fast...especially since my current summer tires have plenty of tred left and would not fit a larger BBS wheel.

So I was just trying to save a little cash and thought using some steelies with Blizzacks for 3 months would get the job done.

Ha, 19 inch steelies? You'd be lucky to even find 17x8 steelies. So no they don't make a 19x8.5

I wouldn't want steelies rusting on my car for even 3 months, and like said, not even sure if they come in 19's, and would be heavy as hell if they did.

I'd buy the set of RS style wheels Mops has. You could probably sell them after three months for the same price, maybe even more to the right, local customer, and no money out of pocket. And your car won't look like a$$ with some cheap steelies for the winter.

How about use your stock wheels for winter and then waiting for a nice set of used 20" popping up in bargain price. If you are not too picky on a specific style, you should able to grab a set within 4-5 mth time frame. If no luck when spring come, swap the stock tires back on again for another season and keep waiting for the dream deal coming up. S5 is not deserved to be tortured by steelies...

they don't make steel wheels that big, mount up the stocks for the time being since you ordered yourself the tires.

Also to take into consideration, you could have a tire shop remount your winters and summers on the stock 19s for 2-3 season before it would cost more than buying steelies. Which at that point, you probably would of bought new wheels already.

That's a good price assuming they're in decent condition. I can't imagine Mops being the type to sell anything that's beat to hell or low quality though. Scoop those up quick!

Extremely light rash on two. They were not even in service long. Took on trade, and only trying to move them for what is invested.

When you stop the car, do they keep on spinning?

I know there are 18'' steelies. There may be 19'' ones, but no matter what they are going to be expensive because you'll need to have them widened.

Thanks for all the input! Decided to scrap the steelies idea. I'll just run the winter tires on the stock wheels like I originally intended.

Maybe by spring I'll spring (terrible pun) for the BBS CHRs. If not, I'll just swap the winter tires out for my summer ones and ride those puppies until the treds wear. Or when I can no longer ignore the BBS wheels whispering my name. Whichever comes sooner.

OP you may also want to look into the TSW's in rotary forged. Nice wheels and as good a quality and styles as BBS.
Those two are my choices for spring wheel purchase...

Good luck with whichever choice ...
