    G28 replaced car doesn't start

Sup guys I noticed not too many mentions of the G28 sensor replacement in the B7 forums so thought I'd give a short DIY and also ask about my new problems:

    Tools needed:
*Ratchet, I used a 3/8", with 1/4" adapter small extension
    * bit coupler with 5mm Allen bit (hex)
    *had a backup 10mm socket.

    Parts:
    06A906433L / Bosch 0261210199 - Bosch Crankshaft Position Sensor (G28)
07K907601A / Bougicord 144556 - Camshaft Position sensor 2.0 LITER (G40) - you don't need it, just a reference part in case you want to replace this. This is located near the timing belt visible from the top and to the right. DIY coming later.

So A4mods has a DIY that is spot on except the wire is shorter and does not hang out under the coolant tank. It is rather to the right if the oil filter and the wire connector is also located right next to the oil filter.
    1. I got the coolant tank out of the way as per a4mods.com to make room
    2. Disconnect from the standard connector and get the female portion of the way. The plug that feeds off the sensor can dangle.

As you can see, you can try to use a 5mm allen bit or a 10mm socket. I stripped the allen portion by blindly trying to it but the 10mm socket was cake.
    3. Either way I took some engine degreaser and sprayedit on a rag and wiped the area as best as I could before removing the sensor. There seems to be oil pooling there which tells me I may have a oil gasket issue.
    4. After removing the bolt, I used curved pliers to pry it off since there was too much oil and it was too slippery to pull off with my hands. There is a gasket seal that creates fiction so a good tug is required.
    5. Reverse instructions for install. Take a good picture to make sure the part has been seated correctly.

If you don't waste too much time on the bolt it should take no more than an hour to do. With that in mind my car still doesn't start. It barely turns over. And immediately thought it was the battery since its been sitting for a couple weeks. As I turned the car the battery voltage dropped dramatically. I tried to jump it with no good results.

    Some thoughts:
-It rained heavily here in Dallas for the past couple weeks
-It was last started two weeks ago when my brother tried to take it for a drive.
-I really hope its not the ECM
-I really hope I'm not dry starting it without oil circulating properly.

Update: I added the part numbers for the G28 sensor and the G40 sensor. Note the DIY is for the G28 sensor. I also got the car started, took the battery to o'reilly, got it charged. Hooked it back up. Removed and reconnected the G28 sensor several times, and cleared the DTC codes. And it cranked up fine. DIY for the G40 sensor will come later.

Update: easy money. Disconnected the connector pushed it back in pressed it in tight and car is back at it running. This probably doesn't make sense but I've been boosting at 15 psi max before. But I'm now seeing 21-22psi. It could be the colder weather here in DFW but wow!

Keywords P0321, crankshaft position sensor, reference sensor, engine speed sensor

Anyone still holding black Friday deals?
