    Sway bar questions

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey all,

Stock 2012 A6 3.0T quattro, non-sport susp. First off, I want to make sure I don't kill the stock ride quality of my car, I really don't want it overly stiff. I'd like to reduce body roll, understeer etc so I'm starting with sway bar(s). I have a few questions:

    1) Should I do the front, rear or both?
    2) Are adjustable end links worth it (doubles the $)? Will they make the car too stiff?
    3) Will the poly bushings they come with also make the car too stiff?
    4) Eurocode or H&R (I couldn't find any other brands...)?

    thanks!!

+1 Eurocode all the way.......give you more road feel, more feedback, stiffen steering wheel abit, much less roll, with the ride setup you can drift ☺👍

Cool, was leaning toward eurocode as i was thinking about the alu kreuz as a future upgrade (designed to go together and all). Interesting about the steering, the loose, numb steering feel is one of my biggest complaints with the car.

expanding on this topic... I was looking into the Eurocode sways as well ... Is it a DIY project to swap out the sways? Keep us posted if you decided to get it done.

I spoke to my mechanic about the rear sway and he said it was a 4 hr job because they have to drop the subframe to swap it out. Not sure about the front tho

I recently had the EC front and rear sway bars installed in about 2 hours. So, I would choose another mechanic.

Good info, thanks guys....I'll definitely check out other options. I thought it sounded high, but the guy explained that the changes from the c6 to the c7 required the additional time.

I vote yes to the Eurocode products myself.

If you have any questions feel free to give me a shout via e-mail: [email protected]

We just installed an Alu Kreuz the other day too. These also makes quite a big difference in tightening up the chassis. We are somewhat local to you too depending on your location.

Eurocode is the way to go. Front and rear. Shouldn't take longer than 2 hours for both...

Great thread, the more I read about these bars the more I realize that Eurocode's the way to go...bars, links, and an AK to top it all off down the road =)

Anyone know a good shop around Boston? (sorry not driving to CT but that shop does look nice)

Whether your guy is trying to screw you up or doesn't know what he is taking about, I will find someone else to do a job if I were you. I have mine done front and rear in about an hour only.
