Several error codes using cone air filter

Hey all. I've been having trouble recently with my turbo system. I have an engine management light on and traction control is off. The turbo is spooling a lot slower although it does work. A mechanic friend of mine reckons that this is because of my DIY air cone filter modification, which I created in order to have a better heatshield. He's tried to wipe the codes but they keep appearing. The turbo spooled a lot quicker with the codes cleared but it was only temporary until it came back. He also scolded me for messing about with the stock system and said that these engines are not meant to be modified as the ECU and engine's are built to operate at a certain temp... dunno about that

I've got the pictures of the codes, could anyone tell me what is going on with my air system? I don't want to have to go back to stock airbox but it looks like I might have to, unless I can improve the air flow.

Something is wrong with the MAF, and you also have O2 sensor codes. Both of them could be related, but I'd start at the MAF. What are the readings from it at idle and under load? Also, you could check the connectors and wiring. And what type of cone filter is it? Oil soaked? Could be you're going to need a new sensor.

I borrowed the ODB so i'll have to check another day. The cone filter is a universal type, not branded as far as I can see. Came off a Audi TT 225 as a custom diy air filter. The MAF wiring had lost it's protective sheth and had wires exposed. Will check them in the morning to see if they might have been melted by the heat of the Cat Convertor.

I run a Forge diverter/blow off valve on stock settings, could that be setting off the N249?

Most of those codes are short to ground. You probably have some melted wires somewhere.
