The holidays are upon us, and so are great deals on many of the latest GIAC performance software calibrations! GIAC Holiday specials begin November 23, 2015 and continue through January 1, 2016 for applicable Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche models. The promotion includes 10% off MSRP* for a 91 or 93 octane performance flash on all Volkswagen, Audi and some Porsche models. A la carte switching products** (not already packaged with pump software) can be purchased at 20% off MSRP.

All of GIAC's software offerings for VW/Audi are installed via OBD2 port flash methods, except for the Audi R8 V10 and TTRS 2.5T. Most Porsche cars can be OBD flashed with the exception of 997.1TT (engine and transmission), 997.2 3.8L GT3/GT3RS and Boxster /Cayman 2.9L calibrations, which must be bench flashed.

Available Options in addition to 91/93 octane performance modes:

* “Stock” mode: reverts vehicle to stock performance levels
* 100 octane performance: higher performance calibrated for 100 octane. Can be used with 50/50 water meth on some models
* Valet: Zero boost & lazy throttle response make the car more of a burden than a joy to drive.
* Kill (not available on TSI models): Security mode that keeps the engine from being started with Kill mode activated.

We don't remove any safeties from the infrastructure of the ECU software in an effort to force the car to make more power. Yes, our calibrations are aggressive, power wise, but they're built to be very safe and very reliable. As I typically put it, our calibration is a near perfect combination of power gains, drivability and reliability.

Just FYI, TD1 does not void your warranty anymore. It's simply a flag placed in the system that adds an additional step for approval before things are warrantied (how well this goes depends on your specific dealer). Further, there are workarounds to avoid being TD1 flagged.

Here is stage 1 from our in-house mustang MD-500 for stage 1 (91 and E85, 93 would fall somewhere in the middle):


Stage 2 is around the corner, as we're working on some other stage 2 projects, in addition to some new engineering items for other brands.

Power-wise, it is a true stock mode, however, the code in the ECU is not stock. Stock modes, from any company, are detectable by dealerships.
