    Windshield wiper replacement question

I just replaced my wipers last night with Genuine Audi wipers (think they are referred to as "Aero"). Should the passenger wiper pivot at all at the installation point? There is a spot in the middle of the passenger wiper that does not clean/clear the windshield.

I noticed when I replaced the Bosch wipers last night (anyone who is curious, only use the Audi brand wipers) that the drivers side wiper pivoted at the installation point but the passenger wiper seemed fixed. This morning I noticed that the passenger wiper was not clearing in the middle of the windshield. Thanks, all.

P.S. -- My observation: although Bosch wipers cost less, they perform worse and do not last as long (20% less).

Well I answered the question tonight: yes, the passenger wiper should pivot just like the driver wiper. I lubricated the point where the wiper replacement attaches to the arm and worked it back and forth a bit with a pliers. Now, the wiper does not come off the windshield in the middle. Problem solved

FYI -- I believe the genuine Audi wiper protects that particular joint better from grime than the Bosch.

Audi OEM wipers would be the preferred choice by far!!

Also, depending on the area where you live, and distance you travel per day with the car, you should clean the windshield properly once every few months, and apply some Rain-X, or a similar product.
Lots of tutorials online, but this one I found worked well for me.

I live in a industrial area, between lots of major factories, foundries and a coal powered power-station nearby. So, lots of dust and stuff in the air, and it accumulates a lot on the windshield.

Glad to hear you sorted the wipers!!
