    B8 S4 or B7 RS4

Looking to buy another audi. I love my B6 S4 and its time to sell it to pay off some debts then get to a newer car (Selling it for $9000 btw white/white near mint 130k mi)

I know i can get a B8 S4 to put out as much power if not more than the RS4 but its just not an RS4. I find myself on the fence flip flopping back and forth between the two everyday.

Anyone have experience with the two? Ive only spent a few min inside each years ago.

RS4 because resale value won't go down much if at all.

True. However my main concern is this the more i sit here and think about it. i do all maintenance and repairs myself. Im getting older and cant handle pain in the ass cars like i used to. I know both are a pain but would like the lesser of the two evils.

B8 S4, the only thing the RS4 does better than the B8 S4 is exhaust note and it has the good looking widebody. The newer car is less maintenance and it will likely have less miles on it, drive both but I think you'll find the driving experience close.

    I've owned both.

    I traded in a 2014 B8.5 S4 for a 2008 RS4.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I wasn't making payments on either car, both were purchased outright, so it's not due to budgetary concerns. In fact, the maintenance on the RS4 has actually been more expensive than the maintenance on the S4 would have been.

The RS4 is far more fun to drive. Not a little bit more. It's a different league.

The power delivery on the S4 comes on way sooner, the RS4 has to be revved. The S4 can make more power pretty easily. I haven't cared in the slightest. This has been the first car (#16? #17 maybe?) that I've left stock, and I don't have intentions of changing that aside from MAYBE an exhaust, just to make it a bit louder.

And if it matters to you, the S4 never got a second glance at the local meets. The RS4? Very different story. Get dragged to an LSTECH meet, even there it drew a crowd.

As for the only thing the RS4 does better is the exhaust note? from an owner of both, that's laughable.

    Tough call and I agree I have a b5 s4. I've considered a rs4 because now you can get one under $40k.

I'm sure the maintenance on both would be expensive.

Even typing this I don't know what to choose. Really tough choice. Go drive them both and see what you like
