First off, I've been a n00b lurker around here for the past couple of years, leeching all of the awesome info posted here to perform DIY service on my A4... so a bigass Thank You! is in order.

I'm curious, is there a dealership price quote guide out there detailing hour estimates or what I would have been charged for the following service items that I've been able to do myself (assuming I don't cause the car to explode with my Thanksgiving weekend plans)? I called the only dealership in KC about the trans fluid and filter change and got something like $850 quoted to me. I LOL'd and hung up.

  • Air filters (cabin/intake)
  • Halogen headlight bulb change (user manual says to take it to the dealer lol)
  • Spark plugs
  • PCV valve / Turbo breather tube
  • Valve cover gasket
  • Throttle body carbon cleanout
  • Cam follower change
  • Motor mounts (including snub)
  • Brake pads on all four corners
  • Timing belt + water pump + thermostat + tensioners + idler pully (happening Thanksgiving weekend)
  • CVT trans fluid/filter change (happening Thanksgiving weekend)
  • Fuel filter change (happening Thanksgiving weekend)
