Finally got mine installed. I'm happy with it. Improved deep sound. Makes it sound less like every other car on the road. Nice deep note, but not obtrusive. Like many have said, it's how an 's' model should sound from the factory. Had it installed at Indy exhaust shop. $50 bucks and the guy even welded the rear section rather than using the clamps. We didn't weld the front section as we did not want to mess with warranty on the cat.

Installed this yesterday while doing my brakes, and I gotta say I'm impressed. This will hold me off for a while on getting a full exhaust setup like I had on my Mk7 R. It gives it a nice aggressive tone under WOT and you can barely hear it at highway cruising speed (70-80mph). Definitely worth it, and it only took 30 minutes to do.

That works as well lol - I thought about doing that. Then I figured if I ever get a exhaust,I can re sell this and get some money back anyway :)

Have any of you guys moved into a downpipe or exhaust? I debating if I should spend the money for an exhaust or even downpipe, or should I just do the resonator delete. Really just looking for a deeper and louder sound more than anything.

That was exactly what I was looking for when I installed the delete kit on my S3. If all you're looking for is a deeper tone and some louder sound, hard to go wrong with the resonator delete (especially for the price).

If you want power and sound. Go with the down pipe. If you just want more sound go with resonator delete. It's a lot cheaper and easier to install.

No drone from the res delete. In fact, you hardly hear the difference inside with the windows up unless you're really on it. Just took delivery of mine last week. Added this option. I cannot imagine not having it now. Wow.

I came from a V8 S5. Not quite the same loud V8 sound, but with the res delete, by far the deepest and best sounding inline 4 I've heard. Love the tone. It sounds amazing outside the car too. Had my wife do drive bys. Highly, highly recommend the res delete.

Looking for a '17 S3. I test drove my first one with the res delete option yesterday. What a difference !!! Sounds great.

Didn't read the whole thread but I see right up above me that there's no annoying droning at highway speeds ? This true ? Opinions ?

I'm going to have to try the flap open 100% of the time, but I want to get a downpipe first to gauge how loud that will be...

How do you adjust the Soundaktor?

Just called two local Audi dealers. It looks like the resonator delete is being discontinued very soon...

According to my dealer, no it wouldnt. They couldnt find the part from any official source without a markup. They suggested I source it from ECS. You can get the oem part from deutche auto parts I think

Mine came from the factory with it and I have zero drone at any speed (‘18 S3 stock).

res delete + downpipe = too much drone.
this has been discussed a lot on this forum and others.

the res delete on its own is a good cheap way to scratch that exhaust 'mod itch'

I've seen dealers add this part to the new cars and charge the customer +1000$ as a factory option

The factory resonator delete is only supposed to be a $350 option according to my window sticker! Even paying that sticker price is questionable. I supposed dealers will try to rip you anyway they can.
