Ok looks like they are going to charge 1 hr for labor so $139.
The SA originally quoted too low thinking it was a 10 min thing.
Sounds like that is the price almost everyone is getting from the dealer.

Yep. They started with 1.5 and I talked them down to 1.0. Should be about $350 OTD.

Can anyone post up larger copies of the install instructions, or send them to me via e-mail? My local shop quoted me 2 hrs ($315) install, as they don't have the instructions to give me a proper quote. I told them it should take no more than 1 hr. If they insist on $315, I'll install it my damn self.

Some of you appear to be new to exhaust modifications. All this is, is a resonator delete, but for once Audi made the part.

For those of you that do not know. Resonators are what reduce drone in an exhaust system. So if you remove the resonator and later on add mufflers or a downpipe don't be shocked when you have drone in 5th or 6th gear. (For those of you with gentle ears)

For sure it is heavier than a straight pipe. I'd say 15lbs. At least.

The Oem resonator section, from mid clamp to rear diff weighs 14lbs. I weighed my s3 exhaust before installing it on my A3. If you know the weight of the OEM delete pipe, the difference will be the savings. Probably 9-10 pounds I would say if you dont factor the additional two clamps.. A nice little bonus for this mod.

Pipe is about 5 lbs from my estimate. So yeah we save almost 10 lbs.

Just got it done.

It's actually a significant amount louder than stock.
I would say like 50% louder. On dynamic at WOT it sounds great!
Nice thing is you can simply switch to comfort mode if you want to quiet it down inside and out.

For the $330 it cost for the whole job it was worth it imho.
I have to lookup the vagcom mod to disable the soundaktor. I want to see how this mod sounds without the artificial exhaust sound.

Added the RS3 rep grille also today since I was at the shop anyway.

It is exactly the sound of the stock exhaust but louder. You get the same dsg farts accelerating and purring when slowing down.
I will give more feedback after I figure out the soundaktor disable.

I'm really interesting in getting this mod. So far from what you said I'm leaning towards this since its under $400. Maybe post some drive-bys and see how loud it is from the outside?

Just watch the 2nd video I posted up top. It will be hard for me to get some drive-bys myself.
If the stock exhaust was a 5 this mod will dial it up to a 7.5.

According to him the part might not fully meet emissions/noise or something? As far as warranty goes with it he said Audi would obviously still warranty the vehicle since it's a genuine Audi part. If anyone has any more info from another Canadian dealership it would be much appreciated.

It's backordered everywhere. Audi just came out with the accessory a couple weeks ago and the initial batches have sold out.
There should be more coming in from Germany soon.

Thanks for the update. I believe FabianS said he was able to get the dealership to order his, I wonder if they'll install it? I'm hoping eventually my dealership will agree to install it as I don't see how this would cause any emissions problems.

The silver lining in this is that Audi might be more inclined to offer in-house modifications. Now that they know there's a high demand for warranty-keeping modifications they should try to capitalize on it.

As for installation, they said since it's an Audi part they'd definitely install it but since they've never done it or even seen the part, they assumed 2.5 hours for a total of about $240, but would likely be less. I sent over the pdf instructions and we'll see if they can provide a better guesstimate.

I ordered mine the other day from my dealer. Parts guy said it'll likely come in at the end of the first week of December. I'll try to haggle and push it down to 1 to 1.5 hrs labor since I have my first service coming up soon. If not I'll just bring it to my muffler shop that I always go to but I'd rather just do it all at once.
