    can my motor handle???

    my motor has almost 137k on it, runs good, no smoke besides shit from my test pipe, but how can i tell if it can handle a big turbo set-up, i want to get one so bad but im worried, anyone help me out on how to check it before i buy a kit?

    You shouldn't have a problem, as long as the car was treated well it whole life then you should be fine. If worst comes to worst you could eventually just rebuild the motor and run one of the quickiest A4's around

    just think of it as replacing an old turbo for preventive maintenance. the stock one is sure to go some time.

    if you want a much more accurate understanding of engine health use leak down testing. I have seen bad motors with "good compression"

    well good compression, bad leakdown is most certainly ringwear that is masked when there is oil. i forgot what it means but i think its the first ringland is gone but the 2nd and oil rings are keeping compression when the oil is present on a low pressure compression test. a leakdown more accurately simulates true compression pressures. if that made no sense it's 2am

    i would do it. Worst case scenerio your motor is shot and you replace it. and you can find a motor with low miles for around a grand these days

    i had always planned on buying a spare engine to play with. if the BT ever popped the engine i would swap in the project block.
