Transmission Question

So i have a 2.8 tip, but i want to make it funner and go with a manual transmission. what do i have to do, or where can i get this done? also whats a ballpark price to look at after everything is done.

Sell your car, use the money towards a manual one. Its literally a free upgrade then. Looks like you'll have to demod your car first. A transmission will easily run you a grand, another $500 for a clutch, probably another $500 in the misc peices, and probably $2 grand for labor. I would say AT LEAST 3 grand, and i don't know of anyone that has done it. It is not worth it to upgrade an auto tranny.

Good luck finding someone to do a manual tranny swap for you. I bet you'll want to do a 1.8t swap after that eh?

yea i was wondering if that was a word haha. ya i just had the front repainted cuz of all the rocks these damn california roads have. the taranny was just a thought, i miss the manual experience, its just not the same.

Call up the guys at Dynamic Racing Solutions, pretty sure they have done a few tip to 5 speed swaps in the past.
