may i get a suggestion for fairly priced tires?
im pretty much just wanting quiet tires with excellent grip. im not a fan of the stock pirellis.
the continental dws are $1000 extra packaged with the set of reps im wanting to buy off ebay.

so the rep wheel specs are 19x8.5, offset 35 +35
what tire specs should i be looking for?
(sorry dont know much about this)

    255/35/19

I currently have Michelin Pilot Sport AS Plus and I loved them initially, but Im around 5/32 right now and they are getting pretty noisy. Ive had Hankook Ventus V12's before and they were great, but I sold the car before they got worn down too much so not sure if they stay quiet for the whole life of the tire and theyre summer tires so if you want all seasons then theyre out. The other tire Ive had recently that I thought was excellent for the price was Nitto Neo Gens, but I believe they only come in 245/35/19. The Continentals seem to have quite a few good reviews, but they are pricey.

Does anyone else have Kumho tires on their B8?
I bought a set of Kumho Solus TA71 245/45R17 online, total cost with installation was under $500 after a $100 rebate. They're very well reviewed on TireRack and TireBuyer and, as far as I can tell, they were the best deal performance-to-price wise. So far, I'm pleased with them. I haven't experienced any slipping on dry pavement and they seem to do well in the rain as well. I'll find out how they do in the winter pretty soon; in Cleveland there's typically mean snow on the roads for much of November through February/March.

Anyone else have experience with these? I'm considering getting a set of winter tires but I'm not totally sure it's worth it since I'm going to move to a less snowy area in the next 1-2 years.

My B8 came with a set of all-season Kumho 245/45/17 tires. They've been through one Montana winter so far and haven't had any problems. Depending on the amount of crud and slush on the roads I don't think you'll need a set of winters.

Hello! Newbie here.. I just bought a set of VIP modular VRC13 with 19x8.5 +40 offset in the front and 19x9.5 +35 in the rear, what tire size can I use which wouldn't ruin my quattro sys? And would I need spacers? Thank you in advance!! 😄

Would 225 width be too narrow for the stock 18" wheels that come with the sport package? Trying to buy some Hakkas and the discount tire in my area only stocks that width.

Stock size is 245, why are you trying to put 225's on it?!

Because they aren't available in 245s. Well, they are, but apparently Discount Tire doesn't carry that size.

They're a Finnish brand that specializes in winter tires... They're pricey but they're the best of the best. People swear by them. Sadly, in the US, they're not easy to find... Tire Rack doesn't carry them and they're more expensive online than at brick and mortar stores, for some reason.

I mean, you can run the 225 tire but would be best to have stock size. Up to you really on what you really want to do there.

I've had my Hakkapeliitta R2s installed for a few days... If you're in the market for winter tires, find a place to buy a set of these! They're SO much better than my X-Ices that I had on a previous car. Stopping distance and handling is probably the same, but it's the predictability and consistency that won me over. They actually recover from understeer by themselves... it's a really cool feeling.

Just took my car out for a ride... found an empty, unplowed parking lot and, uhh... This car is so much fun in the snow!

    *** OFFICIAL B8 A4 Tire Thread ***

Hello guys one of my stock 18" rear tires has a inner crack and showing some wires, possibly because of my alignment. I was going to replace one but they told me to replace all since it's an AWD and get alignment. Is that recommended or can I just replace just one or two in the mean time? I am trying to save money especially around this time

Other then that I do have a set of tires 225/40 zr18's sitting in the garage collecting dust. I also have spacers 17.5mm front and 20mm rear. I am trying to cut the budget, will it be ok to use these? I am planning to lower the car eventually with coilovers but planning to install the spacers now. So I am thinking once I do lower it I won't rub as well. Stock oem tires and rims are 245/40 zr18's

If the one or two tires are showing wire, replace those. You don't have to replace them all if it's not needed and that's a bunch of crap "because it's AWD'. You will for sure need an alignment with those couple tires also.

Noticed that my tires were unevenly worn in the rear so just decided to replace all four and get it over with. Ive heard great things about the Barum Bravuris 3's so despite my reservations I decided to give them a try since they're only $450 a set. I've had them for about 1k miles now and have to say I'm pleasantly surprised, they're super quiet and handle wet and dry roads very well. In the snow they aren't horrible, but not great either. At half the price of DWS06's Id highly recommend them as long as you don't have to do too much driving in the snow.

For a while I had 10mm front and 15mm rear with 255/35/19 with zero issues so I wouldn't think you'd have issues. You might want to get an alignment after you install them if you do.

Thanks for the info, if I do get some vibrations or steering while is kind of off I'm assuming I'll need an alignment

You need an alignment because you're wheels will be sticking out more and will burn the inside of the tire faster. If your steering wheel is off, it's not the spacers and something you might want to look into. Lol

    Hello all,

Just wanted to voice my displeasure with the Conti Sport Contact 3 tires. I have a 2016 A4 2.0 quattro. It came with the updated 255/35/19 tire/wheel package. I loved the tires at first, quiet with great handling. At about 11,000 miles they started to get noisy and EXTREMELY grabby on any road imperfection or seam. Sometimes I have troubles keeping the car in the damn lane. I currently have 14,000 miles on the tires and they are well over 50% worn and loud as hell. The car is just over a year old and I already need tires. I do not track the car and my commute is mostly highway. Very disappointed that this is the OEM tire Audi has chosen. I just at down and actually read the reviews on Tire Rack and just about every review sounds just like mine. I dont understand how they can be rated so well...

Needless to say I will be looking into a new set of tires very soon and want an all season tire this time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

    Jason

I have a set of Barum Bravarius from Discount Tires. I had a set of Continental DWS on my last set of wheels. Honestly, I think these ride and grip just as nice as the Conti. at half the price. I do spirited driving, but nothing super serious.. really happy with my choice.

Hi Jason. Tires seems like a strange animal. Reviews can be all over place - some will love a tire and some will hate it - for legitimate reasons. What you're describing is called "tramlining." For tire wear you can start with the standard things like checking alignement etc. I recently got 4 new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires (not to be confused with A/S 3 Plus). The seem pretty good so far (not too different than stock Pirellis) except for the tramlining on certain grooved portions of the freeway. Can't really comment on the tire wear yet or any emergency manuevers. If money were no object I'd go for Pilot Super Sports especially in SoCal since snow is not a concern.

Have run a couple sets of Cooper RS3-A all-seasons before, and love them. Great price, decent tread wear (got 40k miles out of them), ride comfortably, and for an all season, they stick. It's a shame that they're being discontinued...
We are on our second set to and for the price really enjoy them! Treadwear isn't great, but they are so much better than the Pirelli p7 that came on the car!

My local Discount Tire store priced matched Tire Rack's pricing on the Michelin SS and even beat it by a couple of dollars. Tire Rack has the SS's on sale for 219.05. There's a $70 MIR for the Michelins but it you have to purchase the tires by today (4/15/17). Otherwise there is $50 MIR that's good for purchases up til May 31st.
Came across this in anther thread and I figured it would help out here. The deals will always very but traditional stores matching Tire Rack and honoring their own promotions will save you a lot of money.

Check on the ebay discount tire store or tirebuyer store. They usually do $100 off $400 or more as well as the tire manufacturer rebate so you can save almost $200 off a set of tires (basically buy 3 get 1 free) from them.

    Guys,
I have 18 x 9 Neuspeed RSE52 ET 40 rims with Cooper RS3-S 275/35/18 tires on them. Need new tires. Lowered on PSS10s

Thinking of Bridgestone Potenza S04 or Michelin PSS (I had bad luck with PSS in past on track, too soft sidewall)

    Should I go 255/35/18, 265/35/18, 275/35/18, or 255/40/18?

Recently was hit on my right side and insurance wants to give me a new tire (great!)

problem is, my tires before the accident were about 7-8/32". Should I swap all 4, just replace 1 and run new treads in the back/front, or swap all 4 in the next 1-2 years when I'm around the wear limits for my "old 3"?

    *** OFFICIAL B8 A4 Tire Thread ***

Tire rack will shave a tire if it's not a Quattro then throw it on the back.
