Not exactly sure what is being asked here, but in my case i already had heated seats with memory. In order to use ventilation, the control units had to have the CP adapted. I also needed a new climate control unit in order to use the ventilation. I copied the complete coding from my old module, to the new one.

Know that there are different versions, depending on the spec as well as pre-/post-facelift.

Alright I revisited back to this project since I've got some time off. I found out my power to the seats were corroded off the plug where the seats connect into the bottom housing. Anyone know what kind crimp the red 17 pin connectors are? Am I able to pull the old pins out with a pin remover or are they molded in?

Also using this sheet https://imgur.com/ToRCe0c (thank you cuore for making this), I see that #17 on the red connector is power for multicontour. Am I able to use a fuse tap to tap into the "Front passenger seat adjustment thermal fuse" 15A in the A-pillar? Will I need to find a larger fuse (20A?) since #15 is already using it?

I have an 2014 Audi A7 TDI that had basic heat and vented seats with 3-button memory on door. Trying to transplant 2010-2017 A8 seats with heat/vent/massage.

The A8 seats has all except two wires connected on the red connector.

Just a hunch, the A8 seats have upper torso (forward / back) controls and headrest height adjustments. The C7 / 7.5 did not have that functionality for comfort seats.

    Enjoy the ride.

I just bought 2016 S7 comfort seats to put into my 2014 A6 TDI (US). I test fit the passengers side (with no wiring nor coding changes) but the seat didn’t respond at all. I haven’t tried the drivers but is there a fuse or something that might blow on the seat itself?

Basic functions should be plug and play. I don't know if there any fuses under the seat, but you check all of the fuses for that side? You can also jump the seats with a 12V battery, by connecting leads #15 and #16 on the red connector. I would test the seats if they work if you're unsure and from another car.

    Comfort seats retrofit into A7/A6

I put in my regular seat back and it worked perfectly fine without any changes. The seats came out of an accident car. Anyway somehow the modules got fried? The airbags and tensioner didn’t go off in the seats though

Are you able to take out the modules and swap them with yours to see if they work?

Inspected the power cables? Look at the red connector, 15/16 to see if the wires are intact.

Well I tried the drivers seat and the basic functions, including ventilation functioned. Retried the passenger side and nothing. Swapped the modules and the seat moved. Passenger module must be dead because it didn’t work on the drivers side either. Any place that repairs them? Maybe the Audi dealer could reflash it but for $200 I might just get one off eBay. I would prob get a new module, but not all functions will work since you'll need component protection off. Basic functions like power, heat, cool will work. If you want massage, etc you'll need component protection off.

I haven't gotten far enough to seek out people who know how to get it removed. Reading forums, you likely need a factory scan tool, but I've seen people do it at home? Maybe they have a factory scan tool @ home?

I went to the dealer for my B8 and they charged me $180? I’ll probably do the same for this so they can remove CP off my new (used) night vision camera, seats, and maybe my power close trunk retrofit if that needs it. Either way this will take some time for me since I don’t have any of the materials to 100% do this retrofit for the seats.

Let me know how much they charge you. I was gonna call them up and then call up an indie shop.

It is possible that the Communication Disruption fault code might have been due to wrong coding as well. Popilam seemed to have it too earlier, even though he did not have CP active. I dont get that any longer, with CP removed and that one bit selected only.

I also bought a HVAC panel with ventilation buttons, and I can tell that those work too. Memory button and panel for drivers side also installed. What still needs to be done, is to connect the wires for the memory under kick panel. Then it should all be there :)
    Hi there!
Just got myself a set of comfort seats and have the same problems with the connectors. On comfort seat there is no green connector.
What was the trick to make heating work?
    Please give me some advice!
I know it is an old thread but maybe you still remember.
Ps am not interested in memory funtion..
    Thanks in advance
