I know what you mean I replaced the window switches, the door lock and plastic piece where the door pull is(where the window switches are located in). It makes a world of difference with a refresh.

Thanks you guys for the tip. And yup bought a used, looks pretty clean hvac unit recently. All the rubber was warping in the old one. And the DRL buttons were inset and didnít work. Car is still getting paint corrected and ceramic coating done. Canít wait to get it back.

Will probably want to do the two front seats also. Was thinking of just buying the leather coverings from GAP. Any advice? Iíll also look for past threads too.

going rate is around $700ea top/bottom, per side -- so you're looking at ~$3k for new OEM skins for the front seats. I need to get a few quotes on this myself from some local shops since for less than that money I'm sure I could get custom diamond stitching etc

Installed RS5 rear caliper covers (2x 8K0698221A). I had originally planned on drilling the holes required to use the posts/inserts (like on the RS5) as another user had done here, but after drilling perfectly placed pilot holes, my 3/8" bit decided to walk after going in a few mm, so I decided to just use some hi-temp JB Weld putty:

posts cut off and smoothed with a dremel:

tiny balls of JB weld ready to go:

in reality the outline is white and the inner RS lettering is metallic silver, but in pictures it looks like white text with a blue/silver outline

also finished prototype #1 of my brushed aluminum headlight switch modification, which came out pretty much perfectly. Have a few more donor switches en route to see if I can find a better/easier way to do this mod.

    Nice work!

Are you worried about the JB weld giving out. It ay not happen on the street, but if you track this car at all, your rear brake temps may pass what the JB weld can withstand. I think it's like 500 degrees or somewhere around there.

Thanks! I used the high temp stuff, which is rated to 500įF+. If my calipers reach that temp, it likely means my fluid has also reached that temp, so I'd have bigger problems than the JB Weld potentially failing. That said, I may still tack it at the underside of the two back corner if feasible, just to be safe.

While I doubt you'll see 500deg on the rear caliper, if the jb weld fails and that plate falls, it could make for a very bad day depending on what it takes out while it's exiting the vehicle.

Lol are you serious? I am in Stoneham MA. Absolutely obsessed with RS4's. And I also go to just about every possible car show in the area.

Would be happy to swing by and meet/talk about some things I'd like to do this season. I just submitted an email on your website. Thanks!

Not feeling it but just like Venom said, it's just my opinion. I am wondering about the short length and the fact that you have to reach further for the shifter as opposed to having the shifter closer to you. Seems like a performance downgrade. Thoughts?

So far, so good. It fits my driving style nicely. Most of my miles are long drives, so i drive with the arm rest at its highest down position (with elbow resting on out ward edge and hand at 3'oclock) This shifter lets me have full control with arm under arm rest when needed, while keeping arm rest up, which passengers like.
If im in more urban, city streets, the shifter is great with arm rest in its lowest position.
Overall, it may be the weight too, but it is very spirited.

final version of brushed aluminum headlight switch, uses the center section from a MKIV switch but everything else from the stock switch. Works exactly like OEM with the exception of the release mechanism (as the MKIV switch is ~1mm shorter), so I modified that to make the switch easier to remove if necessary
