For reference, there's a huge water/meth thread in the Golf forums. Sometimes I'll troll over there because there's a lot more activity, and they essentially have the same engine less Valvelift.

Rocks, or powder? Coke sounds like a much classier injection process than meth...

No real gains without a tune, besides the cooling. Need a race file to take advantage of the higher octane. Not sure if I will get it with the k03 or wait for the k04.

Haha. I am going to use your meme in their thread. Was told it is really close and ready for US use.

Nothing lined up next besides putting non-drilled rotors back on the rear to stop the ticking.

On my wish list is an ECS short shifter and maybe some wheels.

I had USP price match this company.
    http://www.vr-speed.com/snow-perform...olkswagen.html

The kit I got had the reservoir included and three nozzles, 100, 175 and 375. The product description states that it only comes with 2.

The install wasn't technically very difficult, just a lot of manual work. I put the pump and solenoid under the front driver side fender, where my stock intercooler pipe sound box used to be. After I was done, I saw where a guy put all of the components near or in the cabin air intake, which is a neat idea, but might slow down air flow.

Is it really so bad that you have to replace them? How loud is it and during what type of braking? Do you have the drilled/slotted rotors at all 4 corners?

It is that bad. Sounds like I have a few rocks in both rear tires. I can get a recording later today.

Happens even when not braking, and yeah. d/s on all four.

Did you have to buy the solenoid separately?

Yeah, I bought the solenoid separately. It is required if you are running the injection after the T/B.

For the w/w tank, I drilled a hole and tried to push the hose up through the tank to attach one end of the bulkhead fitting that comes with the kit. I couldn't get it through from the top or bottom, so I used the fitting that came for the Snow tank and threaded it into the w/w reservoir, then used a lot of sealant around it.

Have some pics that I will post off of my phone. I couldn't find any of my S/D cards for my real camera.

I pulled the fender liner back and removed the pump from the bottom of the tank It is easy to remove, just pulls up and out. Then, I drilled the hole in a flat area right behind where the pump wires connect. I'm an idiot and filled up the tank the night before after purposely draining it for a few days prior, so I wasted a gallon of $2 washer fluid.

Then ran the hose over the fender liner to the front side and connected it to the solenoid, then a short tube to the pump, then a section to the nozzle holder.

Wiring was pretty easy. I used the same 12V that I used for the podi gauge switched source and a ground under the washer filler tube.

I had to buy the throttle body adapter too. This one looks like it has the right screws, mine didn't.

What are the downsides of running meth?

and how long did this install take you? I'd probably have to double it with my dumbass behind the wrench.

I would just run 100 oct but i have to drive 15 miles to get it.. didn't seem worth it

I think it would be bad if you are running a race tune and let the tank go empty. Not sure there is much bad if you keep the system set right and maintained. Make sure you are not injecting too early and risking quench.

I am not sure how long it took me all together. I stepped away quite a few times for long periods. I'd guess that I could do it again in two or three hours, if I had everything set out and ready to go.

When I got it back together the first time, the car ran like crap and a bunch of warning lights came up. I quickly remembered that I jumped the gun and had not put the intake hose back on the throttle body and left one sensor unplugged.

This morning, the car runs super smooth. I'm going to add a bottle or two of HEET tonight to bump up the meth content. HEET is 99.9% methanol. Snow recommends doing this.

People talk about risks of having a W/M tank in the car and what if something catches on fire. 50/50 W/M isn't far from washer fluid and, itself, makes a good windshield cleaner and deicer.

Drove the car to a dentist appointment 20 minutes from work then pushed it hard on the way back to work, with a stop off at home. It usually seems to me that the car pulls a good deal harder during cool, drizzly days. It feels like that with the W/M and it's 70 and sunny outside. Now, I am more interested in seeing what the 100 octane file would add.

Gonna try the 375 nozzle tomorrow instead of the 175 and up the meth content.

The shop where I would get my GIAC tun has a all wheel drive dyno. But the numbers don't mean much compared to other peoples, due to variances. Would be interesting anyway to have him put it on before the K04 then after.

I think the GIAC tune takes a day or two to really come into it's own, so it would mean another 40 minute trip down besides the one to get the file.

Still have it? Hopefully you've cleaned that dirt and dust. :-)

I guess you never ran this with the K03, right? I put the 375 nozzle in this morning and bumped the meth level of my reservoir up. I can feel the difference and am wondering if there is enough of a bump from the k03 100 file to warrant $150 and 40 miles to the tuner.

Why 150$? That's a lot if they're charging you just for labor. The difference is the power difference between 100oct and 91oct tunes. Right now you're only benefiting from as if you had an intercooler.

Curiosity overpowered frugality. Just set up an appointment to go get the 100 octane file loaded on Tuesday.

That's a damn smart place to put that, I'll keep that in mind if I do this down the road.
