N249 normally closed or open with key off?

I was performing a pressure test with the vacuum lines disconnected at the metal pipe between the diverters and the N249. Same test, two different cars, one has boost leaking out of the diverter nipples, the other has boost leaking out of the metal pipe. Neither car has both.

What is the key off state of the N249? Should boost be going through the N249 into the diverters to aid in sealing under boost? Based on the SSP it looks like it should flow from the intake, through the valve into that pipe but I would like to verify.

Side note, would a failed green check valve under the Y-pipe (not the one off of the intake) have any effect on boost or is that for EVAP purposes only?

I believe the N249 should normally be open to the intake manifold line. This would be so that manifold vacuum/boost can still be used to open/close the DV in case the N249 is disconnected.

Normally dv to intake like ^^ said.

The s4 ssp has some good info and should be pretty easy to find on the interweb.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.
