Bilsteins are NOT adjustable as far as stiffness. Whereas the Konis are. But the only thing with the Konis is that you cannot adjust them once they are installed(no acess to the upper portion of shock). Its kind of like a one time thing so technically either is a good choice for a shock. Oh and the Bilstein's offered at ECS tuning have the optional "grooved" body to allow you to sit the spring a 1/2" lower or higher to even out the drop.

My question here is does KYB AGX have a shock for the S4? cause if they do then you can simply reach behind the wheel and turn a dial to the settings you like. My old car had these and it was perfect for when id have a full car of people going out for the night or for when i wanna mess around on some turns.

May I suggest the Eibach Pro System. I originally had the H&R/Koni setup, and the car sat way too low for me, even at their highest setting. Plus the ride was harsh..

The matched Eibachs gave me a much nicer ride quality (closer to OEM), perfect ride height, and they're affordable.

I picked them up through Tire Rack. They don't currently list them on their site, but I'm sure if you gave the the part number [1546.780], they could quote it.

I can vouch for that. Bilstein is a bit soft. But anything harsher would be almost annoying.

I like the OEM setup are far as ride quality. It just sits too high and weight transfer is a bitch.

with the vogtland/koni setup...ride feels almost as comfortable as stock but more responsive and way less body roll. i also forgot to mention that i had a floaty feeling with h&r/bilstein setup at high speeds which was one of the main reasons for switching to the vogtland setup

contact mike for any questions as he is very very informative and knows what he's talking about

I'm with you speedymon, just ordered mine last week from purems.com...Damned backorders! I have a 98 non s4, I just want more aggressive handling but daily driver comfort, guess I'll have to wait and see if this does the trick.

    what's the drop on a vogtland/koni setup?
I don't want too much of a drop, needs to be < 1 inch.

From the posts i've seen, 1.4 inches front and rear.
I little more than I want too, but for the price and quality, what the hell. I'm dropping from stock (without sport suspension) so it'll look like more whatever I do.
I've got room to go down.....

think it was around there....if you want less than an inch you're going to need to go with coilovers. the vogtland was definitely less of a drop than with the h&r's. also the h&r's seemed to sag more and more with time

yes better handling as anything is better than stock. again the setup felt very floaty on the freeway almost to the point where it didn't feel safe during high speed sprints.

I have H&R with Bilstein. I have 1 notch lower in the front so the ride is even out.

Here is how it look with 19s.
