I thought Pani's go 15K per oil change?

Anyways, I just bought B8.5 and went to Audi Denver to do a 5K service, the service writer advised I wait since Audi recommends a 10K service intervals. Funny part is my car oil gauge is at min, so they recommended I add a quart of oil!! Apparently this is normal with S4's?

5k service is free I believe. That's the S4's first service. You burned a quart at 5k?

Sorry, should have been more clear. The car now has 40K miles, and last service was done at 35K miles. I just bought it a few weeks ago and drove it home from CA.

The only thing i can think of is that you will get your money out of is if it's a DSG for the 35K service. will pretty much cost about 85% of what audi care costs.
What I wrote is what I'm considering, but I haven't gone back to the dealer yet for another Castrol change. What I've noticed thus far however is that the car runs much smoother, and that would be a potential reason for me to supply my own oil.

I thought the point of synthetic oil was that it lasted longer, so factory recommended 10K intervals seems ok to me. I assume the car computer will determine if you need more frequency due to hard driving.

One thing I do waste my money on is Shell V-power premium. It's a little more expensive, but hopefully it does help the motor wear better.
