    C7 vs C7.5 4.0T

    I first noticed quite a big disparity in the tunability of the C7 4.0T vs the C7.5 4.0T on APR's website, and that got me curious. So I Googled around a little and it appears Audi bumped up the power, fuel efficiency, and improved emissions slightly between the two versions... while closing some of the tuning overhead.

    Anyone have any insight as to what was actually changed in pursuit of these goals?

    "Audi bumped up the power"
    I'm not sure anyone has done a side-by-side dyno or 1/4 mile run to prove this is a fact or that Audi simply is reporting a more realistic number now since the C7 variant has solidly shown more than 420HP.
    "fuel efficiency, and improved emissions slightly"
    Largely due to stop-start being added (in the US) and the way the EPA runs their tests. Also the transmission pump was switched from mechanical to electric although that probably only offers minimal improvement is fuel and emissions...if any.

    The feeling of a lack of tuning ability is more than likely just because it is fairly new and the code may not have been updated for the latest boxes. Best to call or visit to see if they have it available.

    Cool. The stop/start and underrated power make sense.

    Oh, sure, that makes sense. I guess I didn't consider that tuners might put out software updates for power, though that'd make a fine "upgrade" incentive.

    Ah, I'm no prospective customer for a 4.0T tune; just curious. ;)

    Thanks. =)
