Audi Navigation Plus System Update....

Hi guys....

Any one knows how to update the audi Navi plus?

And if u have to buy a cd then did anyone try this site?

Just plug in a newer map DVD (making sure it's for the RNS-E and not MMI), if there is newer software on it then it will update automatically.

$50 suggests to me that is a copied DVD and not an Audi original, which may give problems when reading it on very cold or very hot days.

Totally subjective here. If you can't stand audi navigation and music interface, or you must upgrade all amps and speakers because you are an audiophile, then aftermarket/android is the only way to go. If you hate non-oem look and dash kits, then stick with your RNS-E and update the disc if needed. All you gain on the RNS-E MKI from software update is the up-to-date map from the year disc you purchase, so don't bother unless you really need the new maps. I don't believe any additional functionality from a software update, other than a new image during boot, but I am sure someone will speak up and keep me honest, if I am wrong about that.

2008 S4 came with either a symphony system, or the RNS-E MKI unit. You have the RNS-E MKI unit. On the RNS-E, the initial display shows MMI because that is the Operating System (software) that resides on the RNS-E (hardware).

How much is original audi DVD from dealer by the way???

Something like $250+ USD. You can find original discs for cheaper on ebay some times. I purchased my 2013/2014 OEM disc in original case shrink wrapped and never opened, for $100 straight up from a guy on ebay.

I called audi dealer and asking me for 499 plus tax for the upgrade dvd.....

Now that's pathetic as I can get an aftermarket all in 1 system for that price......installed.....however am trying to save money.....and found those dvds on ebay for 40 dollars include shipping but I wanna make sure they will work.....

That's an MMI DVD, not an RNS-E DVD so it won't work.

What you need is an RNS-E DVD which has a part number that starts 8P0.

And wen u zoom on the cd......it says rnse however it's not 2015....

On the cd it says 2013-2014 version

The 2014 DVD was 8P0 919 884 BP (don't worry whether the second group is 919 or 060 that only indicates whether the DVD was supplied new with a vehicle or sold as a part through a dealer).
