What color is this???

Hello. I'm a Audi newbie considering a S4 or possibly an S6. Yesterday I picked someone up at our local airport and I admired an S4 (current production I assume) painted in a color that I think is gorgeous. Unfortunately I did not have anything with me to take a pic. I've run the S4 configurator and some others but I see nothing that matches. I could best describe the color as being a copper with a slight reddish tint as I looked at the side of the car that was shaded. Does anyone have a clue as to the name of this color????? I assume the owner much have paid extra for this particular color. I might be encouraged to do likewise. Thanks in advance for any clues.

No, I really don't think so. I've seen volcano red and it's not the same. What I saw does not have as much red. But thanks for the reply.

Thanks to the responders for your help. I've been looking at other pics of S4's in Volcano Red and I now think this might be it. The pic posted by Johnnycash does look like it has too much red but other pics do seem to match Volcano Red. It must be sensitive to various kinds of lighting. I'll have to keep my eyes open at local dealerships to try and verify what I'm seeing. Again, thanks to all especially Johnnycash. I think the mystery is solved.

Is going to say volcano red also. One thing to consider though, I was at the factory a month ago, and they said they can paint your special order any color you want. They will match any sample you bring - she said one guy matched his Audi special order color to his favorite scotch whiskey color lol. Probably cost an arm and a leg, but they said the could do it.

Looks to be volcano red. Pic was likely taken with a cell phone with crappy white balance settings. No real reference point but the gutters from a house and the silver wheels, so here's a more color balanced version showing the red hue toned down.

I looked at a nice Volcano Red briefly and would have bought it had the options been what I wanted.

Volcano red can look *very* different depending on the lighting. Colleague at work has an A4 with it.

pdqgp , You nailed it. That's it exactly. This color must be fairly rare. I have 4 Audi dealers within driving distance and none of them have a Volcano Red vehicle of any kind. Unfortunately I don't see it listed on the 2016 S4 order guide nor do I see it mentioned in the material that has been released for the B9 A4. Bummer.

my b8.5 is a 2013 thats in volcano red, Id imagine it was probably available from 13-14 and dropped off. Id imagine its not a popular color.

If I had to describe VR in one word for a color......copper. It's an amazing color, and yes you can do an Individual color option, IIRC it's like 5k. As rare as VR is, it'd be worth it. lol

Special order the color. I had to do that with Sprint Blue. Don't settle on the one thing you'll ALWAYS see! You can ask Audi to paint your car in ANY color (for a price). It's a lower cost for any color Audi previously used though.
