Hey everyone! This thread worked out really well in the b7 a4 section, thought I'd try it out since I've had so many of these questions myself. Also helps keep down the clutter of useless threads being started.

Here's the first question.

Is it normal for the mmi splash screen to have a "ghost" R in front of the S4?

Im guessing from your sig you have a B8 S4. I know my B8.5 doesn't say that. It just has S4 and its a little different. Ill have to look at it later today to confirm.

That's obviously the S ghosted over itself. People see a R only cause they want to.

I have a 2012 S4 6MT and I can't figure out what the 4th pedal on the far left does. It has absolutely no movement when I press it. I'm stumped!

Does anyone know why the sunroof won't automatically open all the way on it's own? Why is it designed to open 7/8 of the way, then I have to manually rotate and hold the sunroof switch to fully open it?? This is so annoying. What is the logic here?!?!

I think the logic behind it is that position gives you less wind noise than having it fully open. I'm pretty sure it mentions it in the manual.

Opening it all the way in my B6 would cause loud buffeting noise between ~20MPH - ~40MPH, so maybe the B8s have the same issue? I never even noticed that it does not open all the way in my S4, probably because I never had it completely open in my old A4

I had some vag com mods done at my local shop now I have a hidden menu avalible on my MMI can I make any changes with that menu without hooking my car up to a computer ?

2015 models will do full open now with one turn

Is this the difference between the last detented dial setting and the "spring back" setting if you turn it all the way? I'm new to the car and I can't tell why it even has the latter if the last detent setting opens it to it's limit.

What is the (relative) volume of my radio?

When I turn on my heated seats, why does my AC/Air turn on?

Why can't I fold my mirrors in without a $1000 aftermarket mod?

What is the point of the coin holder in that position?

Why can't the bluetooth connection do music audio too? (the technology definitely was around in 2010 and worked pretty well)

Why can't I adjust the height of the arm rest so I can actually rest my elbow on it and still reach the shifter (6MT) with the seat in a higher position?

Was playing around with vagom yesterday and you can actually change that splash screen to the RS one if you like, may have something to do with it.

That does actually bother me. I hate not being able to open the trunk with the car running.

That's where you crack one of the rear windows and you won't have that problem.

I asked these questions as well! My B8 has no volume indication as well. My mmi haa never been updated since it's 2011 file, so not sure if that was addressed in an update or not.

The seat heaters/ac is a weird glitch that can't be fixed that i know. Most annoying thing on this car.

The last detent setting doesn't open it all the way. You must turn against the spring and hold to open sunroof all the way. Weird and annoying.

I do not hear more wind noise with it open all the way... if anything I get less wind noise when fully open!

Why does the MMI map zoom in when I twist to zoom out?

Why does the intermittent wiper settings have zero effect on the amount of time delay for wiper movement?

It's not intermittent, it's the sensitivity setting for the rain sensing wipers. All cars are equipped with that in the US, I believe.

When it is fully open I get the buffeting/pressure waves inside the cabin at certain speeds.
