If you're talking about transmission fluid yes I did it about 20k ago. Used redline synthetic so I might just do it again soon just to see.

Yup. Rocker switch on the wiper stalk does it, too. Also silences the "lights are on" buzzer.

Not sure you can keep up all the time default. However the bottom button on the lever on the right of the steering wheel, click it 4 times (may be 3 times) and you will have speed displayed on that screen. Used to bug me too.

    Hey Guys,

    Question about Oil Change.

MMI is reporting my oil level is at half. Did my last oil change as part of the 85K service at 83K(KMs). I am at 93K(KMs) right now. Am I OK to just top up until the next scheduled service or should I just do an oil change ?
I personally do not like driving with low oil level even if the computer says 'OK'.

I have read that it is better to perform an oil change in between the Audi recommended service schedule and I was planning on doing one at 95K, but I am pretty busy this whole month and won't have time to do an oil change till probably January.

So can I drive with the level at where it is until I can change it next month or is it recommended I top up for the time being ?

    Thanks

Is there any way to lock the car when exiting? This is the first car I've ever owned where I can't open the door, hit the lock button, then close the door.

I hate having to close the door, then hit the button on the handle once it's closed (sometimes it's not that responsive).

You can keep driving it. Assuming the MMI readout is correct (which is highly debated), when it reaches the 'Min' level that represents being approx. 1 quart low. You do not need to add any oil until you reach that point. I would imagine that by the time you reach 95km you will still be at around the half way mark on the MMI readout, unless you are romping on it in which case you can expect to see some additional oil consumed.

buy a dipstick so you can really know . I would add oil . Not sure what "half down means" 1/2 quart? Dipstick would be only way to know.

"The S4 DOES NOT have auto-defrosting side-view mirrors?!" That is the question I asked myself this morning as I tried to merge on the highway and realized my side views were completely fogged over. I figured it would make total sense that Audi would not include an auto-defrost feature since they also took away power folding.

It turns out that the selector knob needs to be set to the center position to turn on defrosting feature. Another head-scratching moment in the S4...

That was one of the first things I did when I picked up the S4, and the reason why I was so confused this morning when they were not defrosting. The POWER-FOLDING side-view mirrors on my B6 A4 still auto defrosted when the right mirror was selected

It's very annoying. All winter I leave the mirror position selector in the center position so they always defrost, and then when I get home, where I always back-in park, I have a moment of rage every day when I put the car in reverse and the passenger mirror does not dip.

That's annoying. I read my manual a while ago, but I just assumed they defrosted when the rear defroster was on.

The kicker is that the manual also indicates how to operate the power-folding feature.

    Lights have to be on.
Life has taught me never try to make something idiot proof, they'll simply come up with a better idiot.
I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

I'm pretty sure they activate automatically when you use the windshield washer, but only if the headlights are on.

I was referring to the oil level indicator in the MMI. Which shows the oil level at the half way mark.

So I decided to top up the oil until the next oil change.

Question I have is, when I opened the oil cap I do not see a straight opening to pour the oil into. Am I OK to pour the oil and it has some valve the oil flows through or when I open the oil filler cap should I see a straight opening ?
